Insurance / Fleet Administrator
Job Description

Administer Company Insurance / Bonding Requirements:
1. Obtain and audit proof of insurance for Company drivers
2. Complete all insurance related applications, forms, and analyses regarding policy applications, insurer audit requests, certificates of insurance, renewals, and owner construction project (OCIP) and qualification forms
3. Obtain requisite bonds on behalf of Company: coordinate with surety providers, process associated invoices, work with sales team to obtain required job information
4. Administer policies (process, report, and advise regarding claims, trends, employee changes, etc.)

  • General Liability, Automobile Liability, Umbrella, Workers Compensation

5. Develop understanding of subcontract insurance requirements / review subcontractor insurance submissions for compliance
6. Serve as liaison between insurance and bond providers, agency and Company
7. Coordinate and implement risk management training

Administer Company Fleet:
1. Administer insurance coverage: add and remove drivers and vehicles to policy, process accident claims
2. Coordinate and implement safe driving education and training; participate on Company safety committee
3. Oversee fleet quality controls: rotate leased vehicles, coordinate sale / purchase of vehicles, order fuel cards and maintenance cards thru E-Fleet/WEX software, advise when vehicle inspections are due, direct vehicle maintenance approval process
4. Serve as liaison between third-party fleet services provider (i.e. Enterprise) and Company
5. Assist and advise accounting department regarding changes to fleet assets (additions and deletions of vehicles); prepare vehicle amortization schedules, as applicable

1. Undertake other tasks and duties assigned by Company Management
2. Be a risk-management advocate (influence risk awareness and best practices)
3. Critically evaluate Company operations and advise regarding process improvements, risk concerns


  • At least 3 years of insurance experience preferred
  • Background in construction industry preferred: knowledge of contractor /subcontract insurance requirements
  • Attentive to detail
  • Sensitive to balancing Company business directives and risk/process objectives
  • Strong work ethic
  • Protects confidential information, uses appropriate professional discretion
  • Proactive and confident claims manager
  • Comfortable multi-tasking
