Every day is different working with children with Special Needs. Some days go by easily, others are a bit tougher. I think the most important thing I have learned working with special needs children is that they want to learn and be accepted like everyone else. They just do it differently. We have an awesome principal who puts her all in the staff and students. The workplace isn't always the best but at at my school we are a family, we always are there for each other whether it be a staff member or student. I think the hardest part of the job is when you are trying to teach something new to one of the special needs students and they don't understand. I just keep going over it until they understand. Sometimes I have to use a different method than the lead teacher. The most enjoyable part of the day is knowing at the end of the day that you are satisfied with what your students actually learned that particular day. I walk away each day knowing that I have made a difference in my students lives.
