Outgoing experience and fun to be at
Service Desk (Former Employee), Pearland, TXOctober 17, 2014
Pros: just being there meeting new people smiling all day
Cons: some people have bad days and take it out on you.
A typical day at work is keeping the day running smoothly.I learn something every day communicating with customers that come in. Management is great when there is a couple of them because if one or etc. is not available there is always someone that is.The hardest part of the job is when you cant get answers for a customer until the next/several days – more... because of the situation. The most enjoyable part of the day is when I can get an answer for a customer no matter how long it took and looking at the customer seem as a brick was lifted from their shoulders. – less

Productive and great place to work, everyone worked as a team and felt like family
Cashier (Former Employee), Panama City, FLOctober 17, 2014
Pros: they would reconize you for doing well
Provided excellent customer service as well as answering phones, cash handling and fast paced transaction processing. I learned a lot about teamwork and how to handle different types of customers in an appropriate manner. Management as well as employees were absolutely wonderful to work with. The hardest part of the job I would have to say is learning – more... product knowledge and dealing with the upset customers. I enjoy the atmosphere of the job as well as the customer service. – less

A very data intensive place to work
Financial Analyst (Current Employee), Atlanta, GAOctober 17, 2014
It varies by department but my department is a very fast paced place to work with a great deal of data extraction. Not enough time for analysis. I feel like I am back in high school with all of these clicks.

Fun workplace with home improvement activities
Customer Service Agent (Former Employee), Mesa, AZOctober 16, 2014
Pros: free lunches, health and dental insurance
Cons: short staff, shortage of hours
A typical day at work is providing customer service at the register making sure customer was satisfied with their services. I've learned about taking customer payments in person and phone; creating quotes on in home installation, also learning about home improvement products. Hardest part of the job was moving up as a supervisor because of so much competition – more... and most enjoyable part of the job is creating a friendly relationship with the customer. – less

Fun work place, great environment
Sales Associate/Customer Service (Former Employee), Winston-Salem, NCOctober 16, 2014
Pros: flexible hours, insurance, learned a lot about gardening and lawn care
Cons: very few hours
A typical day with this employer consisted of placing orders,
loading vehicles with items purchased from the garden department.
(Fertilizer, wall block, plants, etc.) I learned a lot of basic information involving gardening and plants. The co-workers here were fun to work with and be around. Most of them had hobbies that carried over into their job. – more... The hardest part of this job was the fact that was a part-time position with little chance for advancement.
The most enjoyable part of this job would be meeting the various people and the work environment. – less

Seasonal Employee (Current Employee), Lake Orion, MIOctober 16, 2014
In my time of working for this company a typical day would consist of interacting with customers and making sure products are out on the floor. I learned better sale services in retail. The management was really good and was always there when needed. The hardest part would probably have to be coming up with a solution when a problem arose. The most – more... enjoyable experience was being able to help customers and working with great co workers. – less

Store Manager had too many favorites.
Cashier, Customer Service (Former Employee), Moreno Valley, CAOctober 16, 2014
Pros: flexible hours, wearing jeans to work, and the bbq's.
Cons: rude store manager, and dept. managers playing ping pong during work area hours.
The Store Manager had too many favorites that she would let them get away with not taking care of their departments. The Store Manager is rude. She picks on employees who are well mannered and considerate. I liked working there though because of the cool home projects and because of the nice people behind these projects. I like helping people and the – more... days I worked I made sure my customers got what they needed for their home project. I didn't just sell them something they would not need or use. I learned a little bit more about tools, and how to make a cart car. My co-workers were awesome, it was really fun to work them. The hardest part of my job was, dealing with the Store Manager, she knew her job. But her people skills need work. The best part of my job was dealing with the customers, and helping my associates. Learning the different areas in the store. – less

part time (Former Employee), Lake Zurich, ILOctober 16, 2014
Pros: none that i can think of
Cons: see comments section
I originally started working there working Part Time 20 hours a week. After about 3 months they then ramped my hours up to 25-27 hours per week which was OK. Next thing you know they started making my shifts where I closed at night at 11PM one day and they wanted me to open at 6 AM the next morning plus they then upped my schedule to 35-37 hours per – more... week. I asked to be considered a full time employee which would make me eligible for benefits(vacation, insurance etc.) and they would not elevate me to full time status. They kept/keep store labor costs down by doing this to many employees at this store – less

Very busy and fast paced, but great place to work for. A lot of work to do. Managers are understandable and very nice. Hardest part about my job is the late hours I have to work. I love working and helping out customers.

Greeter/Cashier (Former Employee), Texarkana, TXOctober 15, 2014
I would greet customers, assist customers, check customers out, check on orders, call venders, answer the phone and spot for other employees using heavy equipment. I learn so much I can't even begin to cover it. The management was always there for you when you had a question or to just guide you. All of the co workers are amazing to work with. The hardest – more... part of the job was making all the customers happy but, their smile and thanks makes it all worth it. – less

Garden Center Associate (Former Employee), Little Rock, AROctober 15, 2014

Cons: hours, benefits, and pay
A typical day with Best Buy is that you get there, you show customers how stuff works and you reassure them that they are getting the best thing for their money. For all intents and purposes, that reassurance was right because Best Buy has some really awesome and dependable products. The training was professional grade and moving from each department – more... was preferred because it allowed for cross-training and that is something you need to work here. – less
