Assist individuals with activities of daily living, help those who can not help themselves.

Restorative nursing and duties of ADON, Evaluate and implement plan of care to promote the independence of the resident. Coordinate care with the ancillary services to achieve resident’s goals, Inservice staff regarding restorative care. Additional duties included staffing and scheduling and supervision of staff, and on-call for management.

I've learned a great deal - and I enjoy assisting my patients. The staff at Granny Nanny are great and extremely helpful. I like what, and would like to continue to help out and further my career in the healhcare field.

I love working with a patient/client on a one on one basis. I have had the opportunity, to meet a lot of people. Just to know that you as an individual, can help make someone's life better and comfotable is priceless.

I really enjoyed making skilled nursing visits to members and the one-to-one teaching was enjoyable.

A typical day at work for me is first greet my co-workers, set up my station or work area. Prepare myself for the day. Greet my patient(s) make their day as nice and pleasant as possible keep a smile on my face never know the day someone may be having. Work as hard as I can to get my job done

I enjoy working with people of all ages. Upon arriving at work I would take joy in assisting others with medical needs and apply what I have learned in school. I expect my management to make my job discription clear and supply what is needed to fufill my tasks. I am a team player and enjoy being a part of that with my co-workers. I stayed home to take care of my husband whom became very ill until he passed away.

A typical day at work, is making 3 meals, house cleaning, taking the dog for a walk, making sure my client eats and continously check on him. the hardest part of the job is when my client is sick. I was able to experience working with elderly and their families. The management was great, always available to answer questions and solve problems. The hardest part of this job is seeing the elderly sick after becoming close to them.

I enjoy work with the lady, I took her to her dr's appointments and learn things from her.

Wonderful,Positive place to work. Co-workers and management were great it was a team effort. Most enjoyable was knowing that I helped to make a positive difference in someones life. Hardest part of the job was loosing a patient.

Great experience to gain knowledge in the health care field, with plenty of room for advancement.

When I first started working for the A.L.S. patient he was able to speak clearly, and perform some tasks on his own. But I watched the decline of his capabilities and needed to help more and more until he was almost totally paralyzed, which was so very sad. I learned as much as I could to help. Working closely with doctors and physical therapists and – more...  following their instructions to provide proper care. In the last year of his life it was very difficult to understand his speech, so I would translate to friends and family when they visited. It came to a point where I was the only one who understood his needs so I dedicated myself six days a week to help. The family was overwhelmed and really needed my help. I am so grateful to have had the chance to spend time with this person; it was such a special time to see him through until the end. I feel really good about myself that I was there for him and made him as comfortable as he could be. I will carry this time of my life in my heart for rest of my life, and I feel that the experience has made me a much better person and caregiver for it. – less

Advocacy for the elderly is a very rewarding job! Helping seniors gain a sense of individuality and independence, is a blessing.

Housekeeping for patients, distributed medication and provided direct care. I learned patience.

A typicl day was cooking meals, cleaning the house, doing laundry,talking with the client, making sure everything was in a clean and orderly manner for the safety for the client.
I learned their is a lot to do when you take care of a disabled person.
The hardest part of the job was being there every day and night seven days a week and not having time – more...  for your self.
The most enjoyable part was when the client would find somethin funny and laugh about it. – less

The best part of this job was getting this woman out of the bed. She had bedsores when I first met her and I was able to take her shopping eventually. She was taking her medications wrong and I was able to get her back on track, according to doctors orders. In fact, she loved me so much, she legally adopted me as her daughter.
