Job Title/Position: Pediatric Registered Nurse
Reports To: Nursing Supervisor/Clinical Director
Provides services to pediatric clients in accordance with California State Nurse Practice Act,
agency policy, and accepted professional standards of practice. The Registered Nurse provides
nursing services utilizing a comprehensive base of nursing theory and nursing process, and
communicates/documents observations and assessment.
1. Conduct initial assessment visit admitting the patient to service
2. Conduct age appropriate physical assessment and growth and development
3. In conjunction with the physician and other providers of care will develop an
age appropriate, culturally sensitive Plan of Care
4. Participate in scheduled case conferences
5. Maintain appropriate documentation as required by agency policy
6. Participate in the agency Quality Assessment Performance Improvement
Program as assigned.
7 Prepare accurate and timely visit notes and other documentation as required.
8. Perform interventions as ordered by the Physician.
9. Assists in maintaining a clean, safe and attractive environment for the patient
10. Maintain the dignity and confidentiality of the patient; serve as a patient
1. Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing or Baccalaureate degree in
2. Current license as a Registered Nurse issued by the California Board of Registered
3. Minimum of one (1) year experience in an acute care setting or equivalent experience.
4. Training or experience in pediatric or adult nursing
5. Current driver's license, good driving record, and reliable transportation.
6. CPR certification
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Maintain Annual Physical Examination, TB test and any other required conditions of
engagement and submit necessary updates to HR.

a. Visual/hearing ability sufficient to comprehend written/verbal
b. Ability to perform tasks involving physical activity, which may include
heavy lifting and extensive bending and standing.
c. Ability to deal effectively with stress.
d. Able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
e. Able to bend and stand an average of 8 hours per day.
f. Able to lift, pull, push, or carry up to 50-75 pounds.
g. Able to write up to 3 hours per day.
h. Able to work in a stressful environment.
i. Able to drive 50-100 miles per day in all weather conditions.
j. Able to assess and communicate with ill patients, co-workers, and
general public.
k. Potential for exposure to infectious disease
l. Ability to manage clinical equipment/machines
m. Providing services in a variety of environments
n. Walking on a variety of surfaces
o. Is neat in appearance and practice, with good personal hygiene
