About HOME INSTEAD
Home Instead helps keep the elderly at home instead of in assisted living or nursing homes. The company, which operates under the name Home Instead Senior Care, provides non-medical home care assistance for seniors. Its services are designed for people who may be capable of managing their physical needs but require assistance, supervision, light housework, – more... meals, errands, or simply companionship in order to remain in their homes. Home Instead has a network of some 900 franchises operating throughout the US and in more than a dozen countries worldwide. Employees known as CAREGivers provide the elderly with one-on-one assistance in the home and at assisted living or nursing care facilities.
Home Instead's strategy is to market to hospital staff and geriatric-care providers who can then refer patients to one of Home Instead's franchise branches. Each franchise owner is trained in staffing, pricing, and marketing to his or her own specific market. For example, training in South Korea would differ from training in Portugal, based on social mores and accepted marketing campaigns.
CEO Paul Hogan and his wife Lori founded Home Instead in 1994. In addition to general senior care services, the company also provides specialized Alzheimer's and dementia care assistance. – less
