This is a full-time, salaried position that reports to the Program Director.
Masters of Social Work (MSW) or equivalent, residential treatment/living experience a plus
The Case Manager works with the residents of the agency’s emergency shelter, The Gillespie Center for men and Hoskins’ Place for women. The agency defines case management as a comprehensive and ongoing response to the individual needs of a client. It is our aim to end our clients’ homelessness by addressing housing needs and options from the beginning of their stay. Case management must assess the individual needs of the residents and connect them to appropriate resources. Since the facility is an emergency shelter, the aim is to move clients quickly from to available housing or treatment programs.
In addition, the Case Manager is responsible along with other staff members, for certain residential duties of the shelter. Adherence to chores, overseeing the preparation and clean-up of lunch, needs for supplies, general cleanliness of men’s dormitory, dayroom, kitchen and outside areas are all examples of this position’s responsibilities. The Case Manager is not expected to clean in place of clients but to make certain that clients do what is expected of them and if not, deliver the corresponding consequence. Fee collection and the monitoring of delinquent payments for both male and female clients is another important part of this position.
