RN Case Manager, Brooklyn Pk, N - August 17, 2013
Keep in mind that the AL services are completely based on the type of people allowed to rent in the building. If the case mix of the building is very eldery 80's and up, with chronic disease and memory loss then the resident will need a higher level of attentive care. Since the services though are ala carte once the patient is in the building they have the 'option' to pass on the recommended services. This puts the Wellness staff in a precarious situation of being the on-site healthcare representative while potentially being aware that services were recommended and declined for someone. Having a Housing Mgr that wants a building filled with people who either are comfortable with the supportive service cost or are capable of living in the setting safely is vitally important. The right people for the right environment live safely in their chosen setting.
