Management should be ashamed of what they've created.
This isn't a place of hope at all. In fact the government should investigate what they're funding because this is a HOMELESS SHELTER when its supposed to be a domestic violence shelter. Safety here is an illusion for everyone including the staff. You can probably imagine the issues that come with the difference in populations and the strain this puts on families who are actually seeking refuge from violence.
The work culture is a joke and morale is incredibly low with both the staff and clients. No one respects the cause because its not apparent.
If you want a stressful job with little support or direction from the "leadership", where you enjoy being called out for failing to meet unclear expectations but are never acknowledged for going above and beyond, or want a job where you're not sure what the mission is, who's guiding the mission or who's benefitting, then this is where you need to work.
