Think of every cliche you've ever heard about Newark New Jersey residence, now imagine working with them.

Despite being a well upkept office building, it usually rather..."urban" in there, and I swear, I never saw so many Obama pictures on cubicles...

Management is lenient, but a little too much, and you know there's potential hazard when management – more... on the same level as their urban employees.

It was nice to work there, but terrible management means layoffs are imminent.

Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield is a good company to work for although the security and management / training is pretty poor

learned a lot about clinical treatment guidelines for diabetes, CAD, asthma, COPD, MS, Hepatitis C. Became comfortable with oral medications classes, doses, indications. Great team of very experienced nurses. Goal and production oriented environment.

You work all day and you are constantly on the road. I enjoyed working the different events and my co-workers. It is a very rewarding job if you like to help people get what they deserve medically in life. The people there are nice.

Learned a great deal regarding claim processing and the health insurance industry.

A typical work day was to review the maximum of 3 files a day to audit. We were also responsible for doing re audits. I had a team of 5 other co workers and we all worked together. The hardest part of the job was doing re audits disagreeing and agreeing on what is correct.
The most enjoyable day working was when I got a group that was error free!

I learned alot in a short period of time. I learned things I didn't think was possible for me to learn. For instance; I didn't know anything about health insurance, and after my time with Horizon I have alot of knowledge, and understanding of health insurance, and how it works. Also why it is so importnant for people to have. Co-workers that I have – more... met were very nice, and helpful. Management could have been better. The hardest part of the job was job securtity, worried all the time if you are doing a good job, and giving the correct information. The most enjoyable part of the job was the systems and database's Horizon uses. I love working with computers so Mainframe came very natural for me. – less

I love working here. I only left because of an opportunity to move overseas.

• Researched, reviewed and provided solutions to Providers and member grievance regarding claims.
• Responded to customer inquiries and resolved issues efficiently.
• Reviewed claims to ensure coverage and compliance with policy guidelines and regulations.

Receiving calls and assisting the hospitals with benefit and claims information on the patients that have been seen or has yet to be seen. Currently I work at home which is a added bonus. Management is at time disorganized however they do work hard to stay on abreast to all events and delegating these new events to the staff. The harder part of the – more... jobs is the changing benefits, which many of the staff may not all provide the same information which at time makes part of the staff seem incompetent. I enjoy the working at home opportunity , as well as providing information to the provides that is correct and helps them on daily basis. – less

answering phone calls that need to Clarify adjustments, review co-insurance, create claims, verify member insurance, give breakdown of benefits. Always a new situation and ways to handle them.

A+ on the training you receive. Some managers didnt alway know how to manage. Great co-workers and great cafateria.

This was a great company to work for. They do alot of charity work and also have lots of activities for employees and offers great discounts to other companies while working there such as Verizon, Sprint, some gym memberships and others. The pay is decent and occasionally you are permitted to wear jeans.

Expertise in adminstrative duties and team player as well. Dedicated to ensuring productivity and service are up to organzational standards.
