Hospital of Saint Raphael unit clerk (Current Employee), New Haven, CT –
Pros: friends, friendly environment, excellent benefits
Working on an orthopedic floor at a hospital can get pretty hectic. Scheduled surgeries daily, emergency patients we must see, and sometimes even critical cases that need emergency assistance. I have learned a lot going being in the medical field for 13 years now, such as what certain codes are, how to help a a nurse or doctor when asked, and different – more...  illnesses as well. The most rewarding part about being a unit clerk at a busy hospital is befriending my coworkers and going through a tough day together. We all count on each other for a successful day. The hardest part of my job is keeping up with all the patients coming in, sometimes one right after another. However, you learn to keep it going and on a timely manner. – less

Cons: short breaks
St. Raphael's is like a family affair. You are considered as part of a large family where every member has a task to do. There's a great spirit in the work performed here and every day is a learning experience for those who provide services here.
