Its like a family there. They treat their employees wonderfully.
A typical day at work is being around 13,000 people, and sometimes 20,000. Dealing with and problems that may arise and helping to make their experience there memorable. I love seeing the looks on people faces especially when I walk up and up grade their seats at no charge.
In six years there may have been one or two disagreements among the employees but it wasn't much. We are all like family and new employees are hired on our recommendations. So everyone pretty much knows what it takes to do this job and the personality type that can make people happy, but if needed be firm and expect our instructions to be carried out.
The hardest part of this job is being able to stand on your feet for 4 to 8 hours.
The most enjoyable part of this job is being there when History is made. 85% of the time this job will bring you a sense of Joy. From the Great Rockets basketball to the wonderful Concerts.
I appreciate the confidence the company has in me, allowing me to handle not one area but several at one time. They are an excellent group to work with.
We do get free Game tickets for our families on occasion at least 3 or 4 times a year.
Sometimes concerts run over or schedules are changed by performers at the last minute.
Assist NBA Officials (Current Employee) – Houston, TX – March 20, 2015
I worked at Houston Rockets part-time (more than 8 years) I am a huge basketball fan so that was a huge bonus. Free tickets to the games was also a plus, along with working with a great organization. I really can say anything bad about the organization. Everybody was professional and respectful. The one thing I did wish for was to make it further in the playoffs.
Keep up the great work keeping the Rockets a world class organization
Media Relations Assistant (Current Employee) – Houston, TX – June 18, 2013
A typical day at work is fast paced. I learn to block out unnecessary things and value the work ahead of me. management is very open to your needs and always value their employees. The co-workers are always open to help regardless the situation at hand. The hardest part of the job is trying not to have fun regardless of the environment. The most enjoyable part is pulling up to work everyday I can.
A great place to work if you dont mind working long 14 hour days at least 3 or more times a week during the season also it requires working on weekends. Management will provide the proper training needed to complete any job task. I learned that what you get out of any job is exactly what you put in and the dedication to it. I was there for over 10 years so the experience has been great.
free tickets to events and concerts, and employee programs incentives
work weekends, long 14 hour days on game days, limited vacation during season
A typical day at work consists of a high intensity climate in the box office. A typical work day during the season or on an event night are about 12-14 hour shifts. The hardest part of my job would be the long hours and the rude customers. The greatest part of job is that my co-workers and I have a great system in place to work as a team. Management doesn't make me feel valued as an employee. I have used the negatives as motivational points to push myself to continue to grow as an employee.
