Hu-Friedy Manufacturing Company makes the tools that keep your chompers in good chomping order. In business since 1908, the family-owned company makes instruments that dentists and dental hygienists use to numb, probe, scrape, pull, and cut teeth and gums during dental visits. It also makes the Hu-Friedy Instrument Management System, an integrated system for sterilizing, storing, and organizing instruments. The company handcrafts more than 7,000 of the 10,000 products it sells for use in general dentistry, dental surgeries, orthodontics, and periodontics. Hu-Friedy sells its products directly to dental offices and dental schools in North America and through equipment dealers worldwide.
The company promotes a culture based on relations, not only among its employees, but also within the community of specialists, practitioners, educators, and others with whom it collaborates to design and improve its product offerings.
It also hosts the "Friends of Hu-Friedy" website for dental hygienists as a place where they can learn relevant industry information, earn CE credits, and build relationships through its forum.
The company operates manufacturing facilities in China and has a European headquarters office located in Rotterdam.
Hu-Friedy was named for its founder Hugo Friedman, an Austrian immigrant. In 1958 Richard Saslow bought the company, which still operates as a family-run business, headed by his son, Ron Saslow, who serves as chairman and CEO. – less
