Kmart was a great place to work. Everyone was like family. We did cookouts and fun events for associates.
Pros: Helping customers and making friends
Cons: The only con would be a 30 minute lunch.
On a typical day everyone would make sure the store was straight and ready for business before opening time. We set ads before we opened and made sure strays were out of shopping carts. On Mondays I had to complete payroll and do write uos on absenteeism. Once a week we received a large truck of freight when everyone would unload and stock the counters.I might also help at the service desk to run a register. the main job is customer service. you must have excellet customer service to keep your loyal customers.I have done carry outs ,repaired cash registers, helped solve problems for customers. I also handle charge backs from credit card disputes, double charge transactions, kept expenses in tack. I worked side by side with the manager to explain expenses each month to the district manager. In a day I might do a little of everything and realize you can't complete it all in a day.I worked well with all my co-workers.I really don't know of a hard part except not getting everything you want to accomplish completed in a day.The most enjoyable part wa meeting customers and helping the find what they were looking for or something even better. I miss seeing all our regular customers.
