It is impossible to overstate my duties at Huntsville. While I was hired as the restaurant and banquet expediter, I used my experience and skills of organization and teamwork to often take charge of Event Set-up, Operation, and Break-down in a hands-on, supervisory fashion. That being said, I was often the whole crew for such events, which physically caught up with me, and I was unable to continue my position. While I was offered the chance to be a waiter or bartender, those positions did not appeal to me, and compared to the previous responsibility and autonomy I had, would have been a demotion, in my opinion. Unfortunately, no other positions were available to me.
Staff's personalities were good, although many of the staff treat it as more of a job, than a career, which diminishes the quality they put into their work. Promoting from within would be a great incentive. The staffs goals seem to be that things are "acceptable," whereas, management and myself believe things should be "as perfect as possible."
