ICR, a leading corporate communications firm headquartered in Norwalk, CT, is seeking an Accounting Manager to join our growing Finance team. This role will be responsible for the following:

  • Ensuring the accuracy of balance sheet accounts, revenue recognition and expense classifications
  • Will help identify and lead implementation of a new accounting system
  • Help identify and lead implementation of automated expense report system
  • Preparation, oversight and review of the company‚Äôs monthly financial results
  • Take initiative to develop new processes and business improvement functions
  • Manage and improve the monthly close process, including world-wide consolidation
  • Ensure that monthly journal entries and account reconciliations are prepared accurately and in a timely manner
  • Assist in all facets of the year-end audit process
  • Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities
  • Serve as back-up for the Payroll function
  • Perform ad hoc duties as requested

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors or higher degree in Accounting required
  • 5+ years accounting/finance experience; CPA preferred but not mandatory
  • Strong understanding of accounting theory
  • Considers themselves to be a change agent and is open to change
  • Worked in high growth environment with limited resources
  • Has managed corporate audit with major regional or larger accounting firm
  • Current on accounting standards
  • Tax experience with LLC or Sub S with partnership structure
  • Solomon Netsuite, Peach Tree, Quickbooks experience a plus
  • Experience with Service industry with activity based hourly billing.
  • Has worked for a company with revenues of at least $30 million and employees greater than 100.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Great attention to detail and strong organizational skills is a must
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-Starter, possess ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily interaction from manager to accomplish objectives and meet deadlines
  • International experience preferred, especially China/Hong Kong
  • Proficiency with Excel is a must. Advanced functionality (Macros, Access, Pivot Tables) is a plus
