IT Trailblazers is seeking an experienced Oracle DBA (11g Administrator) for one of our major clients in the US banking industry. This is a Full Time position based in Santa Clara, CA.
The Oracle Data Base Administrator will lead Oracle scaling efforts with 11 g performance tuning transactions, perform capacity monitoring and short and long-term capacity planning in collaboration with development resources, system administrators and system architects. The Administrator will act as a liaison between customers, developers, and testers, and responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing security measures to safeguard client’s computer database. Please note that 11g performance tuning is a crucial component of this job.
Roles and Responsibilities of Oracle DBA
Direct programers and analysts to make changes to existing databases and database management systems
Direct others in coding logical and physical database descriptions
Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project
Review and approve database development and determine project scope and limitations
Approve, schedule, plan and supervise the installation and testing of new products and improvements to computer systems
Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure
Develop standards and guidelines to guide the use and acquisition of software and to protect vulnerable information.
Required Skills and Experience
Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) 11g is preferred.
ETL / ETL process with map reduce Hadoop, Hive, Pig and Sqoop.
Excellent command in PIG, Hive and SQL to transform existing business logic in SQL to PIG Scripts.
Big Data connector for Tableau and toad.
Hands on experience in and ability to implement Oracle table partitioning, compression, auditing, refresh/cloning environments, OEM (11g/12c) and RMAN backup/restores/duplicates.
DBA must have hands on experience in supporting Oracle databases (high transaction OLTP and Large Data Warehouse databases).
Demonstrate initiative and willingness to speak up.
Work cohesively with other DBAs as a team and be a team player.
Report status in a timely and accurate manner to their supervisor and manager.
Document their work and cross train peers and present it during team meetings.'
