College Director (Current Employee) – Chantilly, VA – October 4, 2015
A typical day at work consists of several meetings, both on the phone and in person. You learn about policy changes in meetings and what other departments do. Management is a tough job as you are responsible not only for yourself, but everyone who reports to you. Their mistakes are your mistakes. Co-workers all come with a variety of personalities. The hardest part of the job is dealing with people's personalities, especially of the A type sales personalities. The most enjoyable part of the job is when you make a difference in someone's life. You know it when a parent sends you a "Thank You" note.
you can learn a lot in this small setting about every department
hard to find a balance between work and personal life at this company as a manager

Company made some bad decisions and loss title 4 funding. Had to close down, leaving students uncertain about their educational future. Many students were left with huge debts and credits that would not roll over into similar programs at other schools.
I worked for a company that was acquired by ITT. Many of my coworkers were dissatisfied. They voted to unionize. The sale was a move by management to nullify the union. Under different circumstances, I would have liked to continue. The pay was low. The work was interesting and fulfilling.
