I have had several jobs (in the past 12 years(as a CNA) that I have worked with MA's and when it comes to patient(on -hands) care I am sorry to say they have fallen short. I will say they know how to do paper work but their on hands work, anything more than the basic vitals work up they lack. Even when they are drawing blood (if the state allows)maybe a plus, but to have them be in some states(FL, Ga, just to name a few) that only work skill MA is cappable to get work in hospitals is strange. They do not allow CNA's to work any place besides LTC, SNF, Assisited Living. I have questioned if their is a crossover for the states that allow CNA's to work in hospitals and I have gotten just No's. I would also like to know what is the states thinking if they need health care workers why do the state require teaching all of use CNA's the same way so if they tranfer to another state, there skills come as well.
