Very fun place, but not very productive
Bank Teller/Customer Service (Former Employee), Pasadena, TX – June 12, 2013
The branch I worked in was full of fun, not enough talk about work. It's good place to work if you are looking for a job instead of a career.

IBC Daily
Banker (Current Employee), Houston, TX – May 23, 2013
A typical day at work is making sure you get there on time, checking email making sure to check daily reports to see our banks profit on a daily basis and employee's reports. I've learned how to help a customer to their benefit of their needs ( opening & closing accounts) . I have had a great experience with my co workers, very easy to talk to . We – more... always work as a team. The hardest part of my job would probably be sending or helping out doing wire transfers. Due to i don't specialize on that. Other than that the most enjoyable part of my job is being able to help every customer with their needs. – less

It was only good to gain experience for the banking industry
Lead Sales Representative (Former Employee), San Antonio, TX – May 16, 2013
I was a personal banker and enjoyed helping clients. This was a good starter job for the banking business and would recommend it to anyone who is looking to start out in banking ,but , i will warn also that you will need to prepare to work vary crazy hours and learn on the job because the training will not help you much. also if your looking to advance – more... with the company forget about it. I worked for them for a few years and trained managers, who didn't even have banking experience (but were pretty), but the manager i had would not promote me until after i put in my two weeks and on the last day on my last hour of work i was offered to get promoted to management. Which was a slap in the face! – less

Great friendly environment
Bank Teller (Former Employee), Oklahoma City, OK – May 9, 2013
Pros: work environment, coworkers
Cons: management and compensation
This was my first teller job so I did learn a lot about being a teller. I learned how to talk to customers. I learned most of all my great work ethics and how to be a great teller. This was a larger bank and being fresh out of high school it was hard to deal with difficult customers but it was a great experience. I loved everything about being a teller, – more... I loved my job , coworkers, and customers. – less

basic stuff
Sales Associate (Former Employee), Austin, TX – May 8, 2013
Pros: employees
Cons: point system
No job security here at all. If you need a temp job then okay. The manager and employees are amazing just the point system and the push not for customer service but numbers is corrupt.

It is a good job to interact with different types of people every day.
Teller (Former Employee), Duncan, OK – March 26, 2013
IBC is a company that is very motivated to get new customers in, but they aren't as family based as I would have liked. Everything is about referrals and new accounts. I enjoyed working at IBC Bank. I learned a lot of useful information that will hopefully help me find another job in banking and hopefully make it a career. My management on the other – more... hand was more of a friend than a manager. She was too easily persuaded by some of the other tellers to give in on things. She didn't have any rules and the ability to be a successful manager. I loved my other co-workers though. They made coming to work fun and enjoyable. The hardest part of my job was probably denying people. If they didn't have matching funds, we couldn't cash their checks and that sucked. I enjoyed meeting new people every day and building customer relationships with all of my customers. – less

This is the worst job ive ever had!!!
Bank teller (Current Employee), Houstpn, texas – March 25, 2013
Pros: no pros honestly!!
Cons: its just terrible i hate it, just there because i need the job
They treat customers like dirt, make you work ridiculous hours. You have to bring in 1 account a day of not you get fired. Sales associates make up or even open customer accounts without their knowledge.

Great Co-Workers
Bank Teller / Customer Service (Former Employee), Houston, TX – March 23, 2013
Pros: great schedule
Cons: benefits could have been better
The job overall was not a good experience because employees were not treated with respect and management only cares about themselves. The most enjoyable part of the job would be meeting new customers and being able to assist them in any way possible.

Worst bank to work for.
Teller (Former Employee), Texas – February 20, 2013
Pros: no notable benefits
Cons: extremely poor management, unorganized training, treat employees like dirt
Base pay is pretty low starting off at 8 dollars an hour. Employees are on a probation period for at least 3 months until they may have access to "benefits" or even a raise. Requested vacation days are extremely hard to get. Oh yeah and tellers must have at least 14 accounts per month. Absolutely no management at my branch... Literally we had no lead – more... teller and 3 new tellers running the bank. Many people quit working for IBC bank so they expect you to waste your time and gas driving to another location that is sometimes an hour away.....this job seriously does not pay enough for the stresses it's employees have to go through. – less

Nice Training; Poor retention
Teller Supervisor/Sales Associate (Former Employee), Oklahoma City, OK – February 17, 2013
Pros: great training
Cons: high turnover and low pay
The training was extensive and lasted a month and was by no flaw pretty amazing. They build you for customer service however they push you to drive sales in a way that would force customers to leave. I worked 40-50/hrs a week which left little time for my wife not that it is a complaint however I was making only 7.50/hour and overtime was not worth – more... it. At a seven day location being the only vault teller I worked for 23 straight days at least 2-3 hours a day up to 9-11 hours a day. – less

Sales oriented workplace with many opportunities for incentives
Part-time Teller (Current Employee), Sand Springs, OK – February 12, 2013
Pros: incentives, awards, and free lunches for tellers who make 40% walkovers on their sales points
Cons: half time overtime for full time employees, sometimes unachievable sales points
Honestly I love IBC Bank as a whole with the friendly coworkers to the great incentives you get if you work for them. A bad thing about working there is that you have to get sales points. Now I understand that every company has to make money somehow but the sales points are unbelievably outrageous. I have maintained getting to gold performance every – more... month for the past year and a half but I am part-time so it is very easy to achieve. Unfortunately for the full-timers, it is not. Also with getting overtime, the full time employees will only get half time instead of the usual time and a half or normal pay for going overtime and sometimes it is impossible not to go into overtime but the pay is not very good starting out and going overtime. – less

They didn't have much of a system to work for there.
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee), Corpus Christi, Texas – January 16, 2013
Our days at IBC were very hectic. I learned how to open and close accounts along with many other banking procedures done. The management was not what I would really call great. The co-workers didn't seem like they were motivated everyday to be there and perform. The hardest part of my job would probably be trying to pick up everyone's slack when they – more... didn't care about doing their part. I loved the part of the job that the schedules were flexible and we had some time to go to doctor's appointments and such. – less

Respectable bank but needs work!
Bank Teller (Current Employee), Example: New York, NY – December 13, 2012
Pros: its a place to start your career experince
Cons: the pay isnt no where near up to par
I love where I work but not even getting paid $8 an hour is not good. it makes me tired working 6 days a week and over time and holidays with out the extra pay isn't cutting it and to be a teller with sales incorporated its not worth it.

good for the banking and office and cash counting experiance.
Teller/Personal Banker (Current Employee), Houston, TX – December 9, 2012
Cons: blitzing means you going outside and solitciting to all kind of strangers.
IBC offers good working ethics experiance, and only that.
Otherwise it is not a career job. great for young people to get their foot in the door of the banking experiance and that is it.

So terrible that no review can really explain this place
Teller (Former Employee), Oklahoma City, OK – November 13, 2012
Pros: none that i can think of
Cons: they don't drug test so a lot of tellers have meth problems & steal
Where to start? IBC's were being robbed left & right in the city and this is when they decided to get rid of security. When I asked my boss the reason for this and how I felt unsafe, I swear to God she said to me "tellers are dispensable". They do pay $7.50 an hour, much less than anywhere else and somehow make you work overtime at HALf pay, not time – more... & a half. They kept explaining that it's a Texas corp so they are allowed to do that. I was promised raises I never got, I met my sales goals and never received the promised bonuses, management would let customers scream really awful things at the tellers. It was so, so bad that years later I still grimace when I see a branch. – less

The worst place to work
sales Associate (Former Employee), Austin – September 21, 2012
Pros: good people
Cons: bad management, bad pay, bad benefits.
Im a sales associate and IBC is one of the worst companies to work for. Bad management, no accountability, no leadership and not care for family time. If you do over time, you just get pay 1/2 of your hourly salalry. Helthcare doesnt cover anything.

The people I worked with where not bad but I did not like the company's it's self
Universal Teller (Former Employee), Angleton, TX – August 9, 2012
Pros: example: free lunches, etc.
Cons: example: short breaks, healthcare, etc.
Being a teller was not hard it was actually fun getting to interact with customers, the part that I did not like was the demand to get new accounts & the ways that we had to try & get the accounts.
