good for entry level banking
Teller, sales and counting money (Former Employee), College Station, TX –
Pros: positive mostly
Cons: long hours
good for entry level banking.

Good for learning teamwork.

Sometimes it can be difficult to tolerate negativity.

But I enjoyed the nice people and the work counting money.

Educational
Universal Teller (Former Employee), Cedar Park, TX –
In my short month of working there I learned a lot about banking policies and regulations. IBC was known for a quick turn over in employees though because of the four months of training you had to complete as a teller. I had to quit because I was moving back here to Michigan.

Not what I expected when working for a bank
Sales Associate (Former Employee), Austin, TX –
I expected a bit more when working for a bank. I've had a few friends who have worked for other banks and IBC did not come close to what, for example, Wells Fargo has to offer for their staff. Management is very unprofessional

Great enviroment.
Teller (Former Employee), Houston, TX –
Pros: free lunch sometimes, strong employee bonds and teamwork
Cons: back pains from stool, could not transfer to sa branch
Located on the top floor of Houston's Galleria, this branch is internationally recognized and is full of Hispanic culture. Almost every employee was fluent in Spanish and always went the extra mile in customer service. My day typically consisted of deposits, currency exchange, and monitoring all money coming in and out of my box. We were allowed an – more...  hr long lunch break which my supervisor and i used to try to open up new business accounts. The tellers were required to have a small sales conversion rate, so some days i would accompany my supervisor on her outside sales. – less

IBC-worst workplace ever..
Senior Sales Representative (Former Employee), Duncan, Oklahoma –
Pros: free lunches
Cons: long hours, no breaks, no set schedules ahead of time, bad management, low staff morale.
IBC Bank is corporate owned out of South Texas and unfortunately they have no idea what the difference is between Texas and small town Oklahoma customers are.
The management is terrible and the staff treatment is awful. They are always shorthanded and expect the staff to work long hours with no lunches and/or breaks.
Work days consist of every other – more...  sat with a day off during the week, however the employees cannot plan anything because the schedules are never made up in advance.
IBC Bank in Texas needs to make periodic unannounced visits to the branches and activate the cameras to watch the staff and management if they would like to see what is actually happening within these locations. – less

Work/Life
Sales Associte (Former Employee), Wharton Texas –
Never was I a part time sales associate as I had been assigned to be on the day of my hire. I worked 40+ hours since my 1st day. I ended up getting only 1 week of vacation. When I returned the labor board told my boss I needed another week. My boss never gave it to me. I trained, worked strenious hours to never advance like I should have. They tell – more...  you its all about advancement, but it didn't happen. In the end the Ibc bank I worked for has been shut down. The company was absolutly ran horribly. – less

I also worked for IBC Bank and I found that they train you to no end and then put you at a desk and forget you. The hours are long and tiring and if you have an appointment you might as well forget it. You belong to IBC and if you are not management you do not matter.....
