Large company with good benefits
Project Manager (Former Employee) –  North Charleston, SCOctober 16, 2017
The large company afforded competitive benefits but also sometimes felt like a separate company from headquarters. The people were great and were very supportive.

Move on before it’s too late
Program Manager (Former Employee) –  Fairfax, VAOctober 7, 2017
Seems like you are doing something good for society and being a part of the greater good. That’s until Management induces random charges to clients across the board...far from an Ethical company. Watch you’ll be asked to charge somewhere you aren’t supposed to and it’s up to you to say NO. You will be ridden until you break!

Fun slow pace working place.
Operations Agent (Former Employee) –  Martinsville, VAOctober 4, 2017
This job was a pretty slow pace easy working job. All we had to do was make phone calls all over the world to people trying to get them to take health surveys. Gathering the ratings so we'd be able to tell how many people had heath issues or any of the other questions we asked on a daily basis.

CAC Team Lead (Former Employee) –  Baton Rouge, LAOctober 1, 2017
The most enjoyable part of my day would be getting to know applicants and hem having some sense of hope with the Road Home program. Days were long and management made work unenjoyable when it very well could be

Research Associate (Former Employee) –  Fairfax, VASeptember 23, 2017
It's your run of the mill large consulting firm that covers many content areas. The offices were nice and so were the people. Not much to say here, but it's required.

Survey Agent (Former Employee) –  Martinsville, VASeptember 21, 2017
I worked at ICF in Martinsville over a period of 2 years as both a temp and on call employee in the survey/research dept. I enjoyed the job and hours overall. However, because we worked the majority of hours on Sat & Sun I always felt they should have alternated the weekend shifts so you could at least have one weekend off a month. They have a very strict attendance policy and I was terminated for being 2 pts over due to an illness and had doctors notes which they did not take into consideration. But there are still people employed there who had 3 times more points than I had. So the management can be very cliquey & unreasonable at times but no more so than any other call center. Cold calling the general public & convincing them to take 30 min surveys is stressful yet boring at times. However, there were times it could be fun & rewarding. I would still recommend this job to others just dont expect any recognition for hard work and flexibility. Also anticipate that things change very frequently.
Pros
Decent pay for easy work
Cons
Favoritism, nights & weekends, no loyalty

It was a great place to work, the environment was nice and the people within the culture were great. The room for advancement is the only downfall as they have their favorites.

Great company. Great Benefits. The location I worked at was more of a small family run organization with the larger HQ located in another State. Great team.

Region 7 T/TA Health Specialist, Head Start (Former Employee) –  Fairfax, VASeptember 11, 2017
Management is not honest will lie and ensure false information about you is listed in your review. Management will retaliate if you seek support regarding their poor management skills. Pay is well but not alot of room for advancement.

Typical Federal government office environment
Senior Project Manager (Former Employee) –  Washington, DCAugust 29, 2017
I was an embedded contractor working 100% of the time at the client (Federal Gov't) site, with little contact with ICF management. A prior arrangement to support teleworking was cancelled after I relocated to Delaware.
Pros
Independence from the usual workplace culture.
Cons
My contract was subject to whims of Federal staff and their poor planning.

Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) –  Martinsville, VAAugust 23, 2017
The company sucks you in during the interview of advancement, and benefits but it was all a lie! Training was horrible, 2 weeks at the max & then they expect you to know everything! Management is very clicky & have their picks also unprofessional & unorganized! Hated going to work daily! If you have any sense don't waste your time!
Pros
Good pay for the area
Cons
Horrible management, no room for advancement

Analyst (Current Employee) –  Fairfax, VAAugust 21, 2017
Overall, it is a good company and I've gained excellent experience there. The projects are challenging and push people to grow and take initiative. The work / life balance is sometimes difficult to manage. The expectation is that you work more than 40 hours a week on a regular basis.
Pros
Great benefits, flexible schedule, Ability to WFH
Cons
Overtime expectations, slow salary raises

You are asked to do a lot for a little bit of money. Its not worth it if you have a family because you will barely be able to support them. Management has their favorites and if they don't like you they will find the smallest thing to fire you for.

Early Childhood Specialist (Current Employee) –  Fairfax, VAJuly 30, 2017
ICF is a solid company to work for. Strong leadership, good pay, opportunity to flex within the week if you work more than 40. I really enjoy having the opportunity to make a difference with providing expert training and technical assistance to Head Start programs.
Pros
Work from home in some divisions
Cons

Risky Opportunity
Application Processor (Former Employee) –  Martinsville, VAJuly 26, 2017
Your chances of staying in with ICF are fairly slim, no matter how hard you may work. If there's one day you're sick and your production isn't the best, only that day, expect a call. If they feel you're going to the bathroom too much, even for medical reasons, expect a call. If you leave a minute too early or come a minute too late, expect a call. Unless of course you're management. Then you can talk to your friends for over an hour while telling your associates to get back to work, take several breaks, walk around doing nothing, and act like you care about your employees instead of actually caring. Sometimes it may seem that those who don't care about the job and come in late everyday keep their job versus you, a hard worker, but it's true. The job itself is great, some are unable to learn fast enough so they may get fired, but all in all its easy, quiet, and the coworkers are respectful. Of course management and some employees are buddies, so don't expect fair treatment about your health or private issues that may arise. If you can overlook the risks, genuinely know nothing will come up, whether health, family, etc., and enjoy knowing that management acts like everyone quits, or otherwise acts like nothing happened, because they don't want to admit to firing good workers, then apply! It's a good place for people who don't mind being at the computer and can stand quiet work environments without being bored.
Pros
Hour lunch, a small break every two hours, OT if program needs it
Cons
They treat employees like cheap, expendable labor no matter how hard you work or your issues, unless you're buddies with management
