Good place to work and make new friends
Market Assignment Analyst (Former Employee), Greenbelt, MD –
Pros: good benefits, pay, friends and family.
Cons: each year going through the reduction in forces.
Work days were always busy but also able to count on your team if assistance was needed. Every day I learned something new and sometimes policies or procedures could change multiple times. Management worked with their teams to ensure they were successful. Most co-workers actually became friends and family. The hardest part was the departure when Idearc – more...  decided to do a Reduction in Force. I enjoyed working with all the friends I made during the years I worked there. – less

Changed hands with Verizon Yellow Pages and had 2 CEO's in less than 2 months.
Account Manager (Former Employee), Chadds Ford, PA –
Pros: fellow employees, good lunch and breaks, immediate supervisors were fantastic!
Cons: too many changes within company, inconsistent mgmt!
Another typical Corporate job where the company changed hands in the 2 years I represented this company.

It was originally Verizon Yellow Pages that was taken over by Idearc Media.

There were too many changes within the upper management departments that included 2 CEO's leaving their positions at Idearc Media withing an approximate span of 2 months.

Company filed for bankruptcy - now SuperMedia
Advertising Consultant (Former Employee), Bensalem, PA –
Pros: nice offices
Cons: terrible management from top to bottom
The most unprofessional group of managers I have ever worked for. The company was all about staying alive as opposed to giving advertisers good value or service. All about making bonus, not nurturing account executives or trying to help clients grow their business.

Wouldn't work there unless you were extremely desperate
Premise Sales Rep (Former Employee), Northwest –
Pros: money
Cons: everything else
Was a great company to work for when it was Verizon Directories, but when the company spun off into Idearc and went bankrupt and then into Supermedia the company went downhill fast. I was a top performing rep too, so don't be thinking this is from an underachiever. You are just looked at as a number from this company and nothing else. They change your – more...  compensation plan without notice, will just have a conference call in the afternoon. There is so much backstabbing in the offices and the local management encourages it. It's a horrible toxic enviornment. It use to be great money, but it's just ok money now. Not worth the abuse. There are better ways to make money. – less
