They dump lots of work on you from other departments. You're not asked to do it you are told to do it. Management is only there with a title, there is no support or knowledge on how to do their job. The morale is very low as majority of the employees are burnt out and just unpleased with the decisions that are made daily. People tend to stay because the salary and benefits are truly great. IDEX as a whole seems to have it together but FM in Wheeling doesn't seem to encompass the culture and beliefs of IDEX.

A lot of great people who want to make the company succeed. Very little help from managers who worry more about impressing IDEX, instead of focusing on the real problems. Because of this the customers suffer. Complaints are listened to by management and IDEX but the actual action to fix any problems is extremely poor. If you ignore it, it will go away. This is causing a major morale problem.
Liquid Controls... A great company....before IDEX acquired them.

Management is very Ivy League and out of touch with the pulse of the company. They don't have a clue on what it takes to run a manufacturing company. Very little if any room for advancement. A typical work day for regular salaried employees is 10 hours. Very top heavy management to office worker ratio and the disparity continues to grow. Facilities, parking lot, and roof are in disrepair.

I had a hard time getting assistance from management with discipline of insubordinate employees. Things have somewhat changed. In the process, I have learned how to deal directly with the employees in a more professional manner. I do enjoy being the head and being a driving force in my company. However, the employees are the hardest part of dealing with the area of management.
Terrible Manangement and no opportunity for adavancement

Management team is inexperienced (less than 2 years at company) and has no knowledge of the product and no willingness to learn. They piggyback on others comments or use them as their own ideas. They preach a promote from within culture, but it never happens. They always go outside to fill jobs that current employees has asked about and are capable of.

A lot of pride from employees in the products they make. Dedicated group but a serious Management vs. worker (us vs. them) problem. No trust. Also, most of the leadership doesn't know the business. They manage by spreadsheets and numbers. Riding on the success of the distributors who sell the products.
Great products, A lot of business knowledge in tenured people
Job security (lot of fear), no training, people don't like to share their knowledge.
