Unless you're a lifer, they don't care about you
Store Trainer (Former Employee), Las Vegas, NV – May 16, 2013
Pros: pay, free food
Cons: benefits, messy, nepotism
You always hear wonderful things about In-N-Out. But the truth is, unless you're planning on going into management, the company cares very little about your happiness and comfort. I worked for the company off and on for 8 years, and I went about 5 of those years without a raise or training advancement because of how I looked. The company is against – more... visible tattoos, so I had a meeting with a Division Manager to ask if it was all right if I were to tattoo my arms and wear a long sleeve. He said it was fine. And then I was treated like a piriah. The hours are long, the paces at which you work are intense, and there is a lot of pressure if you are human and make a mistake. Furthermore, you are not offered benefits unless you're full-time, and it's difficult to become full-time. There is a lot of favoritism, as well – less

Fast pace job with many responsibilities the higher you climb in the company. Very team oriented atmosphere where everyone needs to pull their own weight for the business to run smooth.

Best Company to work for hands down!!
Level 5 Associate (Current Employee), Corona, CA – May 9, 2013
Pros: just an awsome company! we run like a well oiled machine. feels like family
Cons: can't think of one at the moment
A typical day of work consistes of maintaining the stores sparkling appearance and providing quality customer service to our community. Make no mistake, we are pushed and encouraged to work hard but it is all for the benefit of the customer and we are provided with extensive training across the board. Co-workers can have their personal quarks, as such – more... is with any business. However, we all feel like family. – less

Great work environment that promotes great work ethics
Operations Manager (Former Employee), Pinole, CA – May 7, 2013
Pros: great pay, good people.
Cons: very young environment, constant "high school" atmosphere.
Overall great job to have, good people working with you and upper management is very relatable. Promotes hard work. Most enjoyable part of the job is the people around you. Hardest part of the job is the constant competition.

Best company to work for period
Level 7 / All Star (Former Employee), Sacramento - CA – April 28, 2013
Pros: the coworkers, customers
Cons: grease, late nights.
This company is everything an employer should be. Great pay, easy concise advancement and amazing associates to work with.

Better pay than you'll find in most "real" jobs once you get to management and a great faced paced work environment.

A company with great leadership and values
Store Manager (Former Employee), Las Vegas Excaliber – March 27, 2013
Pros: incentives
Cons: responsibilities
I learned how to manager people in order to get their maximum efforts. I was instructed through personal teachings, books, and classes on how to be a successful leader. I have many life long friends from my experience of being employed there. The hardest part of my jobs were the amount of hours, the responsibilities, and time away from my family. I – more... loved seeing growth in my associates and co-workers. The incentives are un-matched by competitors – less

Fun work place
Fry cook (Former Employee), Redondo Beach, CA – March 17, 2013
Pros: free lunch, flexible schedual, healthcare and other benifits.
Cons: short breaks and bad management sometimes
Working at In N Out the time went by fast, it was a fun place. You have to be fast and accurate to work their. I learned how to interact with customers properly. The managers get switched around a lot so management varies. My Co workers were great and easy to work with. The hardest part of the job was how fast pace it was, you'd always have to be moving – more... to keep up. The most enjoyable part of the job was being around such great people. – less

Cook I (Current Employee), Santa Ana, CA – February 9, 2013
Pros: free lunches and benefits
Cons: short breaks
You clock in go to your assigned position and do the best job you can do. Its about being a part of team, every position is just as important. An error in one area effects the whole team, it all ties in together.
The management team, as well as the co-workers, are there to help you grow within the company, they are constantly training you and if you – more... work hard for them, they work hard for you.
The hardest part for me was learning how to multitask at closing, but everyone there is there to help each other and it relieves the stress knowing they've got your back (that's the best part too). – less

Great Experience
Worked and helped manager (Former Employee), Anaheim Hills CA – February 7, 2013
Pros: had in and out often
Cons: rude customers
A typical day at work consisted of dealing with many customers, being part of a team, and learning more and more about the business. I learned how to handle many different situations, be part of a team, handle money, work in a fast paced environment, and be successful in what I do. The management was just as great as the employees, always giving advice – more... and helping you to succeed. Hardest part of the job was when it got slow as I am a very fast and hard worker. I do not care to sit around when the job had no work for me to do in a single work shift. The most enjoyable part was the managers and co- workers they were all so helpful that everyday went by with ease. – less

Productive, fun, and challenging environment.
Associate (Current Employee), Chino, CA – January 31, 2013
There isn't really a "typical" day at work at In N Out. Every day is different, but we are always hard at work serving up people their burgers. My coworkers are great and really make In N Out a wonderful place to work at. They are one of the most enjoyable parts of the job. I've learned how to be successful in a stressful, fast paced environment; my – more... multitasking skills have grown tenfold; and I learned how to train other employees at certain jobs and how to give the best customer service. Apart from my coworkers, the starting pay and flexible schedule is the best part of the job, it's really great for people who are starting their first job. – less
