In N Out will work around your schedule and they provide you with benefits and gifts. Doesn't matter if it's part time or going into management. In N Out is the place to be.

My overall experience at In-n-Out was good; for my first job I learned a lot of valuable customer service skills. I am now able to work efficiently in any fast-paced environment.

Careful, your job is not secure
Level 5 Associate (Former Employee) –  Saint George, UTApril 17, 2017
IN-N-OUT Burger is a high-stress environment that doesn't have much going for it. It's extremely hard to advance in the company or get full-time hours, rather they would just prefer that you learn how to cook french fries and then just do that for the rest of the time. A customer's word is law, if you rub someone the wrong way you are finished at IN-N-OUT. This doesn't just apply to regular joes either, two of my former managers have since been fired from this establishment with little cause and no warning. If you are looking to make your career here prepare to spend the rest of your life walking on the razor's edge, because this company doesn't care about you or your family.
Pros
Free food when you work
Cons
Stressful environment, difficult to advance, job feels like it is always under threat, unnecessary competition for positions with other co-workers, managers will play favorites and cater to whiners over hard workers.

Great job, but less great people
Associate (Current Employee) –  Placerville, CAApril 17, 2017
Very good job to begin with and for school. Scheduling usually works out. People are very nice and kind. The only thing lacking is management. Priorities go from customer>food>employee. Customer on top is great, but the employees are less prioritized than other things to management. Often times there will be controversy between management and associates
Pros
Free lunch, positive work environment
Cons
Strict break rules, mistreatment of employees

In N Out Burger is a great company to work for they are very understanding especially when you are sick and need the day off or even for a family emergency. They always give you a break whether you work 3 hours or more. Very nice and professional Business/Managers. Would defiantly recommend anyone to work for them.
Pros
Free food on the day you work.

If you like a fast paced work environment, look no further. This place is open until two in the morning and always has a line. The burgers are great and so are the fries.

Overall, In-N-Out is a great place to work and has been a great first job. The people you're working with are wonderful to be around, and there's not much to complain about. The pay is great, and the shifts go by fast because of the amount of business we get.
Pros
Free food and great people
Cons
Smelly clothes from cooking positions and soreness from repetitive motion during shift.

Cook/Cashier (Current Employee) –  Culver City, CAApril 14, 2017
A typical day at In-N-Out isn't really typical. You deal with different things every day and its always busy. We have plenty of customers some regulars and most tourist trying to get there hands on a delicious burger. Ive learned a lot from here like keeping your self composed under pressure. Great communication skills working as a team and most important "The Customer is always right".
Pros
Free Burger
Cons
Short break with a long difficult shift

Working at in-n-out was great. Managers and other associates are very easy to get along with. You must be working every second that you are there. Hardest part of the job is remembering everything on the terminals and what is where, but your coworkers make everything fun.

Fast pace work enviroment, that feels like family
Associate (Current Employee) –  Tustin, CAApril 9, 2017
Not for the feint of heart. A lot is expected of you, and the work comes at you very fast, needing quick results. But everyone is helpful, and wants to ensure that you have what you need to succeed. The longer you are there, the more everyone becomes not just coworkers or friends, but part of your extended family.

The company takes care of you, and is great with helping everyone get to where they are going in life. Whether that is into management with INO, or on to bigger and better things elsewhere, the training you receive will get you to where you are going.

Cashier/Food Prep (Former Employee) –  Long Beach, CAApril 8, 2017
Daily business was crazy and hectic with some hours of down time but mostly very busy. Had great co-workers and managers to work with because everyone was hard working and could multi-task very well. I loved being able to multi-task and succeed through rushes. Serving the best quality food to the best customers.
Pros
free food and benefits
Cons
short breaks

Fantastic job for young individuals!
lvl. 4 (Current Employee) –  Phoenix, AZApril 7, 2017
Great job for young, aspiring teens! The managers are great people who don't look down on you, and they truly care about your lives. The whole crew is a family! There is much room for promotions and even management positions as long as you work hard, provide great costumer service, work well under pressure, and work well with others. I've been at in-n-out for just over a year and i've been promoted 3 times, yet i'm still hungry for more promotions! Promotions do get much harder the higher you go, but your managers really influence you to keep growing and keep getting better! The best thing about the job is the people you work with. The whole crew becomes a big happy family who attends each others events, covers each other's shifts, and flat out enjoy being around each other. If you're a glum person, not a hard worker, or not a team player, this job is not for you.

TIPS FOR GETTING HIRED:
SMILE! SMILE! SMILE! Smile as much as you can throughout the interview (it may feel awkward if you're not used to it but just keep smiling) and keep sincere direct eye contact. We can train anybody to take orders, cook frys, or even cook burgers, but they can't teach you positivity or friendlyness. These come from within. Good luck!
Pros
free lunches, great environment, excellent managers
Cons
The job and atmosphere can be hard to get used to.
