Good place to work if you don't want to climb the ladder....
Marketing (Current Employee) –  Indianapolis, INMarch 15, 2017
Good place to work. The benefits are awesome (PTO, Medical, 401K), the work-life balance is good, the pay is average and the administration is sub par. The unfortunate part of IU is that there are very few opportunities for advancement.
Pros
Benefits, PTO, 401K, Work Life Balance
Cons
Pay, No advancement opportunities, Administration

IUPUI has amazing benefits. IUPUI has a low turnover because most people never leave. It is a secure job as long as you are doing your job. The atmosphere is one that is pleasant and low stress. The college environment is very upbeat and entertaining. IUPUI is a very happy place to work.

Research can be a little time consuming and you are very independent in your own work. This can be challenging but very rewarding.

IUPUI is an amazing place to meet a diverse community of people. The management is wonderful and everyone works as a team. I enjoyed my job at IUPUI. The parking and morning commute was the hardest part of the job.

Fair department, but no job placement potential
Research and Teaching Assistant (Current Employee) –  Indianapolis, INMay 21, 2012
Experienced professors, but there is no job placement structure withing the school of science. The faculty does not have a network of employers to draw from and are not current with technology. Department has not moved forward since the early 90's
Pros
very flexible schedule
Cons
limited opportunity
