Fantastic company to work for.
Magistrates court caretaker (Former Employee), Chesterfield, ENGMay 22, 2014
Pros: great company to work for
I can't say enough about Granada Leisure, they trained me from a sixteen year old electrical apprentice on to a television engineer and on to a electrical management position in my time with them. They were taken over by Bass Leisure in 1991 and we were made redundant, other wise I would never have left them.

Fun place to work
General assistant, kitchen porter (Current Employee), Dundee, SCTJanuary 7, 2014
Pros: free lunches
Cons: never the same working hour shift
My day at work is typical routine day, as I am either front of house dealing with customers or working within the kitchen with the chefs. I work with great people who blend well as a team and can get the work done but keep things interesting. I feel that I am not used to my full potential in my current job and wish to be more of a valued employee with – more... skills I can utilise productively. The hardest part of my job is knowing that I am unable to do any paperwork or computer based work. The most enjoyable part of my job is my workmates and having a wonderful manager behind us. – less

Good workplace
Waste removal (Former Employee), Washington, ENGNovember 26, 2013
Pros: gained experience, met new people, more confidence
Cons: only one day a week off
My time working for initial was quite enjoyable, i liked how there was a variety of different jobs to be carried out such as working the conveyor belt, bailer machines and the bin lift. I learned what precautions needed to be taken while operation machinery, why PPE must be worn, have a hard working attitude and why a punctual attitude is important. – more... My time at initial made me more confident working around other people and working together. I found that my co-workers and my supervisor was always willing to offer me help or advice about the job if i did not understand something, and i thought everyone had a friendly attitude towards me which made me comfortable whilst working for initial. The hardest part of my job was the bin lift as it could be challenging most times as the bin could be too full/heavy to push onto the machine, a determined attitude and using my own initiative helped me to over come this problem. The most enjoyable part of my job was the conveyor belt as i just had to stand in one place and sort the waste into categories, i found this the best part as i was constantly busy and had to be on top of my job all the time as it would prevent my co-workers from carrying out their jobs – less

Productive and Hardworking
Airport Service Assistant (Former Employee), DerbyJuly 18, 2013
Pros: two breaks
Cons: far away
Each day involved cleaning the airport from one side to the other, it was a team of four people and each person had their own section of the airport which was theirs to maintain. Sometimes working together to complete big tasks. On night shifts we worked together to perform jobs such as using machinery to clean the floors, e.g. ride on scrubbers. I – more... worked 6am-6pm or 6pm-6am. I learned a lot about working long hours and working hard as an individual to keep a very busy, popular place tidy using my own initiative. My manager was friendly but had high expectations which helped develop good working skills as I met the standards set. My team were very helpful and organised and helped me settle into the job quickly. The hardest part of the job was being on my feet for 12hours but I soon got used to it. The most enjoyable part was having my own area to control and keep organised and also not being in the same area each day. – less

Productive and a great team to work with.
Housekeeper (Current Employee), Bilston, Millfields RoadJuly 6, 2013
Pros: communicating with people and having good team work.
My typical day at work is to arrive and start work at 7 clean and sweep restaurant area, have my breakfast break at half 9 then at 10 I start cleaning and filling 13 klix machines which are scattered around the tarmac building. I normally finish the klix machines around half 12 which then I will go on my dinner break. After my dinner break I will continue – more... to clean the restaurant until 2:30 then finish work. If I have any spare time or finish my jobs early I would ask any work colleagues if they need any help completing their tasks. The most enjoyable part of my job is speaking to people and taking an interest in their hobbies and interests. – less
