The most enjoyable part of the job is that I am helping injured workers get back to a productive life. The work comp system is difficult to maneuver through as it is so knowing we can make life a little easier by getting prescribed medications to patients in a timely manner so that they can get back to work is reward in itself.
I have learned a lot about how attorneys and physicians need to interact to create a successful environment for patients to return to work. And I am able to build that network by bringing the two together at dinners to get the dialogue going between them. This is a win/win for all involved.
I consider myself a consultative sales person, educating physicians and attorneys on the pharmacy side of workers' comp. It's not easy selling a service, but the challenges make every day interesting and I attribute my success to being pleasantly persistent.
