Cons: very bad management, will fire staff for the most minor infractions, understaffed pacu
Most of the long-term staff RNs in PACU are into game playing. They like to dump their work on each other and are hypersenitive to anything that isn't politically correct. The higher manager for surgical services is horrible. DO NOT GO TO WORK FOR THIS PLACE!!!

The staff RNs and technicians were the best !

Pros: the teamwork amongst staff rns and technicians
Cons: very back breaking work
I worked for 2 years as an RN2 . The working environment was great in the beginning with very good unit managers (2 of them), very helpful, committed, supportive. Then the change came when a new Patient Care Director was hired. Not supportive at all and seemed very reluctant to even help out if needed out on the floor. More like a desk person- paper – more... work,meetings etc. Never a" nurse advocate". The floor was always very busy. The best thing were the technicians and the RNs all help each other as well as the charge nurse . I can never forget how hard my co nurses had to work with very little break. But the cooperation was there amongst us and we'd finish the work come what may. They are the real angels there! – less

Senior Management has changed the working atmosphere to that of a production line, which is not very worker friendly. Salaries are always in the middle of the regional range, with minimal chance for promotion.

Management in my previous dept was not experienced in te work being performed by the staff and from my experience and from other co-workers experience, there is age and other types of discrimination in several different departments of the company.

INOVA is a great system to work for, the people and benefits were great. I worked night shift for INOVA while attending PA school. The work load would be heavy at times but lessened with teamwork.

I worked here part time. It is a great work environment. Location was great and easily to get to. Staff are amazing and helpful. I was a PBX operator - I was knowledgable of the emergency codes and updating phone list - frequently to have up to date data of patients.

I worked at INOVA Fairfax Hospital for 6 years in a variety of positions. I enjoyed the facility and my fellow co-workers. The compensation was equal if not more than that of other hospitals in the area. INOVA Fairfax Hospital is not only a Level 1 Trauma Center but also a Magnet Hospital.

My experience was a poor one. I liked Aramark as a managment company, but not Crothall. Also, an item was stolen from my personal work locker that only one person had the combinations for other than the respective employees. The item were returned, but it doesn't bode well that it happened in the first place. Finally, instead of repremanding the Manager – more... that harrassed me, he was allowed to go to a section of the hospital that he had no business being in...in my humble opinion. – less
