Good place to work
Configuration Management Specialist (Former Employee), Hood RiverMay 22, 2013
Pros: enjoyable seeing the changes in this company
Cons: changes can be difficult when going through the process
Work was steady and often times busy and at times demanding. Fellow employees were enjoyable. Hardest part of the job was keeping up with constant changes. However, I always enjoyed coming to work and seeing the company grow and the friendly faces.

Was a great place to work
Instructor (Current Employee), BingenFebruary 27, 2013
Pros: great product
Cons: horrible management
Insitu was a fantastic place to work prior to Boeing buying them out. The culture has changed, and is sliding down hill. Upper Management (Certain Senior Vice Presidents, Vice Presidents and Directors) are running this place into the dirt. Moral is low. Great product, horrible management. Pay and benefits are OK. Be prepared to work many hours if you – more... are hired as salary position. Promotion track was good, but has declined over last 2 years. – less

Poorly ran company going down hill fast
NA (Former Employee), Bingen, WAFebruary 4, 2013
Pros: bring my dogs to work, decent benefits
Cons: lack of leadership, stability, compensation, location
There is very little about this company that is still ran well. Clueless Management, good ol' boy culture, way too many cliques as if it is still High School. Good workers get more work, poor workers (esp. if they are someone's friend) get promoted. No one worth their salt stays for long.

The area is isolated and horrible, and reflected in the talent – more... pool. The company is not going to last much longer with the way things are ran. The commute from Portland was unbearable. – less

Cheap company, 24x7 work with no overtime pay, mostly nice people
Sr. Technical Writer (contract) (Former Employee), Bingen, WADecember 23, 2012
Pros: fun projects
Cons: low wage
I actually liked working here. With all the negative sides to it, it is a very casual atmosphere. Wear sandles and bring your dog to work. I think they have to be this casual because it is one of the few benefits.

Laid back, beautiful area: But nowhere decent to live
Engineer (Current Employee), Hood River, ORApril 26, 2012
Pros: laidback culture
Cons: nowhere decent to live, established processes not open to improvement.
The company is very laid back and casual.

The major downside is finding someplace to rent that's close to where you work. Permanent employees have the same problem finding something to buy. Most of the affordable places are dumps.

Another downside is that the company is spread out over several locations that can be at least 5 to 50 miles apart.
