R&D Group Manager (Current Employee) –  Bellevue, WAMay 17, 2015

Great job, ok company
Executive Assistant (Former Employee) –  CaliforniaOctober 20, 2014
The job itself was great, but unfortunately the company is not what it once was 6 years ago. The benefits are not great because the main headquarters is in Washington, not California. Management is hit or miss depending upon who you are rolled up under, which can change quarterly. Hardest part of the job was the constant change due to the young-ish age of the company. My co-workers were some of the most brilliant minds I have come across, which is a thought shared by most who have worked there.
Pros
Good people to work with
Cons
Sub-par benefits and spotty management

Above average place to work
IT Person (Former Employee) –  Bellevue, WASeptember 30, 2014
I learned that not all IT personal have the same view on how to service the customers.
Management tends to have personal goals with communication being very poor in regards to the companies agenda.
Departments are silo'ed and defensive and often interfere with accomplishing tasks.
The hardest thing is probably getting support and help from co-workers outside your department, and keeping up with bad product decisions.
The part that keeps me coming to work everyday is the customers I support. The appreciation and kindness is overwhelming.
Pros
Free food
Cons
No solid policies and proceedures, too many exceptions and holes. Poor direction and execution

Not the place it use to be
Industry Business Director, Automotive (Current Employee) –  Bellevue, WASeptember 10, 2014
IV was a great place to do interesting work, but that is changing. The leadership has created and adversarial environment both internally and externally. While the compensation has been good, the future outlook for job security is negative.

Interesting place to work, yet unorganized
IT Business Administrator (Former Employee) –  Bellevue, WAJuly 6, 2012
IV is an interesting place to work due to the nature of business, but because the company grew so fast, it has a long way to go to get to a mature environment. Also, because the company grew so fast, there isn't a lot of room for growth, unless you have experience working in lab, engineer, or research.
Pros
free breakfast, coffee, snacks, soda, and big bonuses (if the company does well)
Cons
unorganized, unstructured, busy management, meeting oriented

Don't get the big boss angry
senior staff engneer (Former Employee) –  Bellevue, WANovember 21, 2011
Did pretty well until I had a minor error in a high profile project, which angered the big bosses. Was a typical drift in topic that occasionally happens in a project, course correction after a week of error was done. Otherwise had great performance reviews until this happened.
You need to be pretty good at office politics to succeed here.
And the place was going from startup to big company, and that caused a lot of HR brearucracy. Yuck. And they started "matrix management" double yuck.
Pros
they paid pretty well
Cons
gets too political
