Intelligrated helps businesses move products -- literally. The company makes and installs automated material handling equipment, including conveyors, sorters, and airport baggage handling equipment, as well as order fulfillment and warehouse control software. Its InControlWare software system manages conveyor and sortation systems, while its Real Time Solutions software aids in order fulfillment. It targets the consumer goods, distribution, logistics, pharmaceutical, postal, and warehousing markets. Customers have included Dick's Sporting Goods, The Hershey Company, Big Lots, and McKesson. Formed in 2001, Intelligrated was acquired by European private equity firm Permira in mid-2012 for more than $500 million.
Intelligrated is headquartered in Mason, Ohio and owns operations throughout the US and in Brazil, Canada, and Mexico.
The infusion of cash from Permira is being used to fuel Intelligrated's growth; the firm plans to extend its customer base further into North America and introduce additional product offerings and global capabilities through investment and strategic acquisitions. It also plans to penetrate select markets it believes are ripe for growth.
Intelligrated has its eye specifically fixed on Brazil, an emerging market it believes is experiencing a rising demand for handling automation in the manufacturing and retail sectors. It notes a surging uptick for advanced sortation and palletizing systems within the country. Intelligrated launched its operations in Brazil in 2012, through a joint venture with SDI Group USA, a material handling equipment provider that has operated in South America since 1992. – less
