Okay work/life balance, but limited advancement opportunity
Short Term Consultant (Former Employee) –  Washington, DCJuly 12, 2017
Work/life balance is okay, occasional work overtime is required, but not often. Short-term consultants have very limited opportunities to change to employees.

Nepotism is the rule
Senior Specialist (Current Employee) –  Washington City, DCJune 5, 2017
An organization with a great mission, awesome employee benefits, but unfortunately tainted by rampant nepotism, politics, and constant manipulation of employees by management.

Expect an adjustment to a different cultures expectations, if you are not accustomed to the latino way of doing things then you may have a bit of a "rude awakening". I will say that it is an excellent place to learn.

Excellent palce to work, great benefits, only lacking management organization.
Learning and Knowledge Management Senior Associate (Former Employee) –  Washington, DCMay 4, 2017
The Inter-american Development Bank is a great place to work. The feeling of doing something valuable for the development of the region is the best reward.
The company has great, competitive market, salaries and even better benefits.
The only thing that it is lacking is a better management organization because sometimes inexperienced managers make questionable decisions about their departments making work-life balance very hard for some employees.

Analyst Programmer (Former Employee) –  DC - District of Columbia, DCJune 17, 2016
Difficult to become a permanent staff, you have to know the right people and have a very good relationship. If you are a internal consultant, the quality of the job does not have any weight when hiring.
