Seeking a production-oriented individual that interacts directly with the independent property and casualty retail agent, to build and develop a profitable book of business. Duties include but are not limited to: actively seeking new business opportunities, timely review and evaluation of applications, underwriting accounts to be placed within binding authority markets and ultimately seeing those accounts thru the binding process. Consistently demonstrates a professional, positive, team-oriented attitude, while performing job duties
Ability to use sound underwriting judgment, knowledge and experience to evaluate risk for acceptability to binding authority
Possess a proven track record of developing a profitable book of business and experience working with independent insurance agents
Highly personable demeanor, ability to build rapport, good judgment and sound decision making along with a strong work ethic and desire to succeed.
Ability to work in a paperless environment.
Ability to work in a high energy, fast paced, deadline driven organization
E & S Underwriting experience of 3 to 5 years with a Company, MGU or binding authority
Self-motivated and accountable
Strong organization, negotiation and communication skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Effective interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong relationships with clients, markets and colleagues
Computer skills – past experience with policy rating and quoting systems.
