There are good engineers in the company, but it was unstable after a few layoffs every six months in the past 2 years.

Executive Assistant at Intersil Corporation
Executive Assistant (Former Employee), Milpitas, CAAugust 6, 2013
Pros: good benefits, decent pay
Cons: not enough people interaction
Very busy day; must be available via phone, email and in person throughout the day. Often overtime required to get the job done. I've learned a great deal about international travel requirements and intricate airline procedures, many inter-company software processes and shared online training with other EAs to help the team. My co-workers were very nice to work with and we made a great team. I have nothing but the highest respect for my immediate management. The company had a lot of turnover in the past 6 years with senior management. The hardest part of the job was the last 3 years of RIFs and not knowing if you were secure in your job. The most enjoyable part of the job was doing business and employee meetings and events.

Pros: relaxed atmosphere
Cons: financials of company is uncertain
The work environment at Intersil is casual, but also active. The team work between the different functions is excellent and risk taking is encouraged.

A troubled company
marketing engineer (Former Employee), Milpitas, CAAugust 23, 2012
much money has been spent to acquire glamorous high-tech companies, with no results. but then the hard-working engineers struggle with not enough resources, it seems it is a common problem in every team. the people are some of the best that i have met in the business but they can not be successful i think.

Test Engineer Lead (Former Employee), Milpitas, CAJuly 30, 2012
Pros: management give positive support.
Cons: response from the mangement conflict with internal success.
* A typical day is like working with a team together that empower each person's function into a higher level, where no other team has ever been to, excitement and challenging behind the overtime hard work.
* What I learned: Team working, peer support between Design, Applications and Test.
* Management: Freedom to try handling 12 - 20 projects systematically.
* co-worker: Lots of co-workers interests in involvement.
* Hardest part of the job: Wait for the instant gratification and response from the outside.
* Most enjoyable part: Be the first place in the Optical Laser Driver.
