Poorly operated, overpriced, zero accountability
Front Desk Agent (Former Employee) –  Canton NYApril 14, 2016
Immature staff members, ridiculously priced for a hotel that had not been thoroughly renovated in 20+ years, over priced, complicated menu for restaurant, ancient computer softwares (unlicensed as well)
Pros
Guests knew they were getting screwed
Cons
Zero accountability in management

General Manager (Current Employee) –  San Francisco, CAApril 11, 2016
We all work together as a team. All managers are crossed trained to work in any department to give every guest 100% attention. I start my day with a property inspection and get together the day's game plan. Review previous day's financials. Update the 90 day forecast. Check bank deposits. Greet guests at breakfast. Meet with the cleaning teams. Speak with the Chef and Chief Engineer. Inspect 5 rooms per day. Review labor schedules to the 14 day forecast ed revenues. Check the business flow of reservations.
Pros
Great Location and Brand
Cons
Too big to advance.

Front Desk Manager (Current Employee) –  Dana Point, CAApril 1, 2015
The company IHR has many hotels under its belt. The best I can say is to look at the hotel itself and how it is run because IHR will send people into fix issues but its up to the brand to keep it up.

Housekeeping (Current Employee) –  Irving,TXJune 15, 2014
Each day has its ups and downs but the weekends is always busy, but the day always goes fast, coworkers fun to work with, manager & supervisor over housekeeping is always pleasant and caring, even when your personal issues come up but they will always work with you, hardest part of the job is cleaning a lot of rooms in a certain amount of time, but always get the job done, and on slow days supervisor make calls to say that you don't have to come in for work. The enjoyable moments is always having to see each guest pleased and satisfied and they enjoyed there stay and we will always see them come back.
Pros
tips, over time, benefits, collect(10)door cards keys for free drink
Cons
30min lunchbreak, no free meals, low pay

Poor- Work Mules and Lambs led to slaughter - Hyatt Place/ Somewhere, VA
Secondary Management (Former Employee) –  Sonewhere, VirginiaNovember 22, 2013
Worked here for 6 years. The stress was unreal. 50/60 hour work weeks. No time for Lunch unless you wanted to work till 9 pm. Lost 30 pounds in 2 years. Every employee in the hotel minus the GM, depressed, stressed, overworked and in a constant state of angry anxiety. Interstate/Noble is known for being cheap. No room renovations for 7 years. No bathroom renovations for 15 years. Stained carpets and sofas. Broken mattresses. Sales team can't keep corporate clients due to room conditions. Housekeeping does their best to keep up the scores, but the rooms are so bad, it's become out of their control. Appalled at the racism aimed at foreign employees in housekeeping. Everyone back stabbing one another. HR calls for even the slightest infraction. Secondary management blamed for everything while the latest GM is out of town half the time. Good luck, and the best to you if applying for this company.
Pros
Decent vacation and sick time (if you can get it)
Cons
Mistreatment of employees and secondary management, incredibly long hours. Costly health care

Bad Management !!!!!
Front Desk/Night Audit (Former Employee) –  West Palm Beach, FLAugust 27, 2013
Bad Management! No breaks because there is no one around to ever cover for you, Scheduling is done by Supv. so beware of going to Fd manger for complaints as he will do nothing about it and Supv. will from then on purposely screw up your schedule and hours till you decide enough is enough and quit like i did. There's also a lack of security if you work Night Shift ..there is no proper working lock for the Lobby doors, you are told to basically run and hope you get to the back office in time to shut the door closed and call the police. Good Luck to anyone who gets hired or still works there. Hope new management arrives soon to help you guys out!
Pros
Co-workers friendly
Cons
Bad Management, No breaks, Lack of Sercurity

Area Catering Sales Manager (Former Employee) –  houston, txJune 5, 2013
The hotel industry must be cutting back on full time staff. One person is expected to do the work of three. There is not enough support but not being micro-managed is nice.
Pros
employee rates at other properties
Cons
work-load

Staff Accountant (Current Employee) –  Arlington, VAFebruary 26, 2013
Challenging work but rewarding. Management structure is a bit confusing. But overall a good company to work for. I would reccommend it to someone who is on their first job looking to do more accounting wise.

a lot of opportunities to develop team morale.

Senior Sales Manager (Current Employee) –  Long Beach, CAFebruary 12, 2013
Since we spend the majority of our day with our co-workers, this is a great team to be on. No drama and you are not micro managed. As long as you get your work done, you will be left alone to do your own thing.

Don't work for Interstate Hotels. Inefficient and backstabbing company.
N/A (Former Employee) –  N/ADecember 19, 2012
Interstate Hotels has no method or philosophy to guide their workers. They expect them to learn on their own. They are also so lazy that they have other employees train other new recruits the little they have managed to learn on their own.

Unless you are willing to cover up their incompetence you are already on your way out. They expect you to cover their mistakes and blame their no progress on the employees they are responsible in training. They are all hype and a joke.

Upper Management will have a sissy fit when things don't turn out right and start back stabbing even the best workers that are trying to keep the property from crumbling.

If you don' t wish to be a loser don't allow yourself to be employed by these losers.

There is truth to the other negative reviews.
Pros
none.
Cons
dishonest and lazy. have no sense of integrity.
