great pay and benefits.
Software Engineer (Former Employee) –  Longmont, COMarch 2, 2017
offers great pay and benefits, workplace culture isn't the most enjoyable. There seems to be too many upper level managers for the number of employees.

Used to be amazing
Associate Data Analyst/Data Analyst (Former Employee) –  Longmont, COApril 5, 2016
I worked for Intrado before West corp purchased it. It was an amazing group of people dedicated to "work worth doing". The company looked after its people, we had a lot of opportunities to learn, grown and advance within the company. After Intrado was purchased by West corp things started to change. The atmosphere became focused on meeting financial commitments and not keeping quality employees. Management didn't seem to care what your resume looked like, they cared more about internal promotion within each department. So moving into a new department meant practically starting over.
Pros
Great people, interesting work
Cons
loss of cafeteria, declining benifits

Good people, terrible compensation
Data Entry (Current Employee) –  Longmont, COMay 13, 2016
Firstly, the pay is terribly noncompetitive.

Secondly, benefits are expensive.

Lastly, they count all their chickens before they are hatched when it comes to accounting. West has unrealistic expectations for profit growth.

If they want to keep good people, they would pay better.

The job isn't difficult if you are an analytical individual and know how to manage time. If not, then it may be difficult for you.

Now that its a west company its a bad place to work
Account Executive/Sales (Former Employee) –  Longmont, COOctober 20, 2016
When this company was not indebted to the stock market and worrying about paying out dividends it was a great place to work. Now the company culture is the worst its ever been and management is a bunch of lemmings scared of their own shadows.
Morale is at an all time low. I would stay away from Intrado-West corporation!!!

SENIOR NETWORK ENGINEER (Current Employee) –  Longmont, COOctober 26, 2016
This is a great company culture for self-driven, self-starters. Nothing holds you back except your lack of drive and imagination. Problems to be solved are vast, workload abounds.

Integration is currently occuring 2016 with West parent company. May be good may be not so good.
Pros
Opportunities to touch lots of technologies.
Cons
Slow to retire old technology.

Stay away!
Intrado Employee (Former Employee) –  Longmont, COMay 3, 2016
Multi million (if not billion) dollar corporation, yet they cannot clearly define your role, and offer clear, concise training and documentation to back up some of the most ridiculous policies I've ever seen in a company.

The worst part? They provide 911 call taking equipment to the vast majority of metropolitan areas in the country. And its all supported using 56k dial up technology to save money and avoid difficult conversations with their customers. So lets compromise public safety in the name of budgeting!

They throw a lot of talented people vastly experienced in real world applications into a proprietary system and the only training that's offered to support people is installation training.Think of it this way; Its like if they developed a proprietary snow shovel that no one has ever seen before. And to train the support people on how to use this shovel...they show you how they make them.

Little to no transparency between departments. Which is fine, except these departments have to interface with each other to resolve issues. Kind of hard to know who to interface with on what when you have no idea what other departments do in the same company you work for.

Compensation is good, which makes no sense how a company who had a vast amount of absolute morons running the executive level of management can remain profitable. Yay for government subsidy contracts! Its not what you know, its who you know! And that's important for public safety!

Do yourself a favor, look elsewhere for employment. if you actually have integrity to make your workplace better for all those
more... who work with you, forget West/Intrado. Taking actions to help streamline your job is seen as insubordination and you will be disciplined for "bad attitude".  less

Interesting work and decent benefits.
Telecommunicator/Senior Data Analyst (VoIP) (Current Employee) –  Longmont, COOctober 2, 2012
The work at Intrado is always changing so you are constantly evolving with the technology and customer contractual obligations. It can be fast paced and there is no room for error. There are a lot of very intelligent, motivated people that work here and makes the job and relationships more challenging and enjoyable. The most difficult part of the job is dealing with the lack of communication from management to the employees in all departments. This causes people to feel like they are not trusted and creates poor morale which runs rampant throughout the company on many levels.
Pros
decent benefits, decent wages, bistro and gym on site, multiple break areas where free non-alcoholic drinks are provided in unlimited quantities.
Cons
poorly managed causing poor morale.

SENIOR DATA ANALYST/PREP ANALYST (Current Employee) –  Longmont, COMay 27, 2013
A typical day at work would involve daily contact with external and internal customers.
I learned time management and how to multi-task.
Management did not micro-manage.
The team worked very well together and always willing to help each other.
Hardest part of the job was learning the new phone technology.
Knowing that doing a good job saved life's.
Pros
team buildings, Starbucks in building, good benefits
Cons
No flexability, to many meetings, no room for advancement

Great place to work if you are not technical
Software Engineer (Former Employee) –  Longmont CoJune 15, 2013
This place is for you if you're looking for a customer facing job. But if you're an engineer or even semi-technical, stay away or it will be a horrible career move.

The software engineering department is a disaster due to incompetent management. They take the worst engineers and "promote" them into management. So they have no training, no experience and no managerial education. You've been warned.

They attempt to develop software in an agile method. However, due to lack of training and education at the managerial level, it is a total train wreck.

To summarize, Intrado is a great place to work if you are not technical. Otherwise, run far far away from this place or your career will suffer and you will be miserable in this place.
Pros
Lots of parking, restaurant, starbucks, pay is competitive
Cons
Management is a disaster in engineering department

Director of VoIP Operations (Former Employee) –  Longmont, COOctober 8, 2015
While there are rewards for working there, it is very difficult to put up with them for long without a great sense of humor. Personal privacy is infringed upon constantly under the guise of "security". However, they are the 800lb gorilla in the emergency world, so it is hard to argue with them. Once in there, you usually have good job security although the internal politics are fierce.
Pros
The emergency services mission

Senior Data Analyst (Former Employee) –  Longmont, COJanuary 30, 2014
Correcting errors after researching for resolution. File submission to ALI providers. I learned all about 9-1-1 there, every aspect of it. The management team was awesome to work for. Co-workers were great, made coming to work fun. The hardest part of the job was when things would break down and we would get behind on daily deliverables. The most enjoyable part was just working for a company where everyone's job was important and mattered in every way.
Pros
Free soda/coffee, employee appreciation, quarterly outings
Cons
nothing

I can't believe that i was offered a job, accepted it and next day revoke the offer because i am only 2 years and few months in the state. What of other company that employed without 7 years of you being in the state. I was told to pass background check I most be 7 years In the state. I can't recommend anyone to the company. What a terrible experience with the company. If you are a permanent resident don't even waist your time.
