Director of Count Me In 4 Kids

Position Summary

Count Me In 4 Kids (CMI4K) is a central Oklahoma community collaboration that seeks to establish a sustainable forum to best match the needs of at-risk and foster children, foster families and children aging out of foster care with those who can provide them with services they need and with individuals and entities that want to help.

Additionally, CMI4K is launching two programmatic strategies, Safe Families and You Share, to provide a volunteer-driven safety net for at-risk children in Central Oklahoma. One of these solutions requires a significant engagement of the faith community and other organizations while the other is a technological strategy for connecting people with the resources they need.

The Director of CMI4K is responsible for leadership and management of this innovative and robust collaborative, management of CMI4K day-to-day operations, and the launch of Safe Families and You Share in Central Oklahoma.

Essential Job Functions

  • Be a visionary leader in implementing systems, processes, and infrastructure necessary to take CMI4K to next phase, following its developmental year
  • Leverage board, staff, community partners and volunteers to maximize impact on mission and goals
  • Be both an effective communicator and strategic, respectful collaborator who can foster partnerships
  • Be a systematic manager of staff, volunteers, and operations, building and empowering an effective team
  • Effectively manage administrative aspects of CMI4K, including financial management, strategic planning, collaborations, and human resource management (including volunteers)
  • Generate fundraising success with individual, corporate, foundation, and government sources
  • Manage the roll-out of both large-scale and smaller strategies to prevent child abuse and neglect in Central Oklahoma
  • Demonstrate expertise in child welfare/advocacy
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Training

  • Master’s degree in business, social work, non-profit management or other related field
  • Extensive experience in related areas (minimum 5 years) will be considered in lieu of education

Experience

  • Programmatic startup experience
  • Experience in grass roots/coalition building
  • Proven experience recruiting, training and managing volunteers
  • An awareness of child welfare issues and solutions
  • Subscribes to the principles of servant leadership
  • Experience in advocacy at all levels
  • Experience in working for/with a governing body
  • Demonstrated management, organizational skills and decision making ability
  • Experience with social media
  • Experience in fundraising, including a proven track record in securing funding
  • Familiarity with major donors throughout Central Oklahoma
  • Experience with the management of paid and volunteer staff, including recruitment, hiring/engagement, termination and team development
  • Experience in budget management and projections
  • Demonstrated ability in public speaking and written communications

Essential Physical Requirements

Sufficient mobility and strength to move about the facility. Ability to be mobile throughout the community.
