The Sr. Systems Engineer role leads the design/delivery of complex technical solutions to customers based on Ixia products and services. Keeps abreast of market trends and competitive products, and identifies competitive differentiators. Engaged throughout the sales process and owns the technical close. Tasks may include requirements analysis, feature demonstrations, benchmarking, competitive positioning and proof of concept execution. Understands customer’s products, network topology, applications and test requirements to recommend solutions to meet their needs and ensures customer satisfaction. May build mini-applications based on customer requirements to demonstrate feasibility of the application, often requiring rapid prototyping. Integrates Ixia products and services at the system/solutions level into customer’s environment and ensures interoperability within the customer environment. Acts as the customer voice to influence future product design to meet customer needs. May be regional or product/technology focused. May deliver customer training classes and solutions consulting. Location: Northwest US-Prefer: Seattle, WA or Portland Oregan areas.
- BS or MS in Computer/Electrical Engineering. Typically 9+ years practical experience
- Must have strong background in Networking
- Prefer experience with Security
- Prefer experience in supporting or selling into Enterprise Market
- Excellent initiative & ability to align broad strategic and tactical goals
- Great customer facing skills; builds credibility and confidence in Ixia’s service offerings
- Collaborative and cross functional style - works with sales, development and marketing teams to aid in growing services business.
- Clear communicator with customers and peers
- Ability to live with and resolve ambiguity
