Pros: ok pay and benefits
Cons: management, co workers, lack of moving up, favoritism, company policy etc.
A typical day at work was unpredictable and due to third shift being so under staffed and all the favorites getting weekends off sometimes the only employees left had to do 2 areas and be available to do rooms and small projects in a 7.5 hour shift that's right you don't get the 80 hours. Management is very unorganized in both 2nd and 3rd shift as to who is assigned what areas and assignments. Both favoritism and gossip are a huge issue that seems to be swept under the rug by upper management. I learned to have a high tolerance and be very patient I would just go do my job ignore everyone and go home. As far as co-workers they would gossip, some would work others wouldn't due to the favoritism they would even get away with sitting in the office chatting it up with supervisors while others picked up slack and it got to the point that people had no problem stabbing each other in the back just to be in managements good graces because that was the only way you would get a chance at being promoted. The companies policy is complete bull as well. You get 1 sick day every month so 12 a year by the union but the companies policy states that if you take 3 excused or unexcused abscesses in a 3 month period you get written up but the company is paid for the sick days they just want to keep the money. This lady was hospitalized due to a cyst in her ovaries that ruptured and was written up for missing 5 days. The hardest part of the job was just knowing I worked their and that I was paying union dues every month for them to be in favor of all of managements mess and the most enjoyable part was that i quit.
