Poor management no career advancement orlando
Service Technician (Former Employee) –  Orlando, FLDecember 20, 2016
I was a technician in the Orlando location for about a month. The service manager is a douchebag. The hrs Monday thru Friday are the best part.the techs haven't had a raise in 4 years..Good luck making it there longer than 2 months due to there high turnover rate
due to the service manager alex. He talks to you like trash he hates black people (I'm white) and he questions everything you do like your a child and if you stand up for yourself he'll get rid of you..You can't go to upper management cause there all friends...Don't work here
Pros
OK pay and work shedule
Cons
Duchbag manager

Detail Specialist (Former Employee) –  Lynchburg, VAJanuary 5, 2017
All in all its a job...no type of career growth or self growth can come from J.D. Byrider. Can't complain about co-workers at all. Everyone is real easy to get along with. As far as management goes they need entirely too much work and reconstruction to run as a business. J.D. Byrider is supposed to help people with bad credit to get a car loan and achieve better credit. The way the system works it's almost as if they want people who cannot afford the payment's to come in more frequently. Bad part about it, sales managers sit with customers on what their budget is and IF they can afford it. Time and time again I see people getting these cars, wondering why our repo count is so high. Management? What management?
Pros
Detail my car
Cons
No breaks, No value of employees

Low pay & awful middle management
Sales Associate (Former Employee) –  Lansing, MINovember 12, 2016
The ownership is amazing but their middle management selection is terrible. They're leaning on an outdated model for special finance in mid-Michigan/Lansing. With Sundance & RPN competing, their vehicle model selection, super high interest rates, & past reputation scares off most potential sales before you can say your name. They will not give a rep an opportunity to really get going either meaning they will fire you in an instant if you're not selling up to their numbers or kissing up to middle management.
Pros
Draw against commission, meaning you get paid even when you dont sell, Laid back atmosphere. Non stressful work
Cons
Lack of serious customers, low pay, bad management

Salt lake company is the worst
Sales Associate (Former Employee) –  Salt Lake City, UTFebruary 20, 2017
I worked here for 10 months give or take. If i was not the lead sales rep, i was second. Found out the sales manager was cheating her sales log and she asked me to help her. When i refused, i was fired. A year later she was fired for not meeting her sales quota... Remarkable.
Pros
Owners are great people
Cons
Lagging pay, terrible manager

Dont waste your time
Manager (Former Employee) –  Glen Burnie, MDSeptember 3, 2016
Would strongly advise against working here. Management is a joke at best. They allow incompetent employees to retain their jobs even after being disciplined numerous times. Their execution of a good business model is failing. When confronted with these shortcomings, ownership had no answers. When issues were presented to company, owner questioned the mental state of employee who brought it up. You can make much more money at any other dealership
Pros
Do whatever you want
Cons
Career suicide

Automotive Technician (Former Employee) –  Harvey, LAJune 22, 2016
Rushed at doing your job. Working conditions terrible. Building falling apart. Restrooms in deplorable condition Ceiling insulation falling in shop and sheet rock falling in restroom. No time off for Doctors appointments. Broken toilet seats and stall doors don't lock. Wouldn't recommend this job to my worst enemy. Worst thing of all racks are unsafe to work under.

Not the best place to work if you are looking for stable hours. Can be entertaining on busy days but still requires a lot of access that most people are not always willing to give.

Sales Exec (Former Employee) –  Sherwood, ARJanuary 6, 2016
I wouldn't want anybody to work for this company. They're stuck in the stone age. Finance manager laughs at customers circumstances even though they're in the same financial situation as the customer base. Favoritism abounds.General manager thinks he runs a respectable business, but it's as bad as any predatory lender. They discriminate on a daily basis.
Pros
Learn BASICS of the business
Cons
Horrible mgmt, very prejudicial towards customer base

J.D. Byrider offer positions that have a great work/life balance. What they lack in salary options for their employees, they make up for in PTO.

Collections & Underwritting
Account Manager/Underwritter (Current Employee) –  Dallas, TXDecember 21, 2015
Company just needs to structure better. Finance manager has never worked collections so not very helpful. I love collections so this was a great job, learned how to set up Repo's and retrieve from the impound. I also filled claims with the insurance company to have vehicles fixed or totaled out. Co-workers were knowledgeable and we worked great as a team.
