The Vice President, Director of Aviation, is responsible for the sales and marketing of new business, maintaining good producer and carrier relationships, developing and monitoring marketing programs. Overseeing the Account Managers/Executives and their handling of the marketing and service responsibilities of the renewal book of business, mid term policy maintenance, ensuring workflow procedures are being followed, that the account manager/executive is communicating effectively with clients and meeting their needs, underwriters and other producers within the company.

YOU WILL WORK CLOSELY WITH THE Insured and Producer as well as the Accounting Department, Personal Lines Department and Claims Department as necessary for the servicing of each customer. YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE for following through to ensure requests of the Cert Technician and Account Coordinator are completed accurately. YOU ARE THE primary organizer of all commercial insurance coverage placements for the customer and after sale policy administration. Should be able to work independently and resolve customer issues with minimal assistance from the team leader or producer.

o Service existing clients. Includes processing changes to existing policies such as changes in name, address, aircraft, hull values, as well as the addition and deletion of pilots. Issue or order certificates of insurance for additional insureds and lienholders. Prepare renewal solicitation letters and questionnaire forms for existing insureds. Prepare debit and credit invoices as necessary;
o Solicit insurance quotations from the various aviation insurance carriers in various formats, as necessary. This may include letters, fax or online submissions;
o Prepare aviation insurance proposals for new accounts and renewals;
o Build and maintain relationships with new and current clients, service existing clients or corporate aircraft, pleasure use aircraft, charter services, aerial applicators, airports (both municipal and private), flight schools, flying clubs, Fixed Base Operators (FBO’s), aviation manufacturer’s, products liability, aircraft fuelers, aircraft repair, aircraft detailing, overhaul shops and non-owned aircraft liability.
o Train and supervise clerical assistants; as necessary;
o Process new and renewal policies and mail or deliver to clients;
o Process aviation claims. Counsel clients on what to expect in the handling of their claims.
o Keeping current with industry changes, carrier appetites and new products
o Meeting with company personnel on a regular basis.
o Provide marketing direction and advice to staff
o Maintenance and analysis of department reports including production

o Give advice to prospective clients on how to qualify for the best coverages and rates;
o Explain the various FAA and insurance carrier pilot training requirements;
o Explain policy provisions to existing clients and prospects including pilot warranties, hull coverage, and liability limit provisions of the various aviation insurance policies.
o Interviewing and hiring (in conjunction with HR and COO) of personnel
o Administering performance reviews
o Problem solving of marketing or servicing issues
o Management of Staff’s PTO and general personnel responsibilities
