Smokehouse Operator, New Glarus, WI - December 10, 2015
The typical work day is a struggle to get a handle on things is the easiest way to put it. We have limited equipment with not a lot of time, and space is a commodity to contend with as we make to many things at once instead of dealing with things a few at a time, but we manage. Management there are some decent ones and some that are difficult to get along with as they are stubborn sometimes. In my department we cook the products that are made and apply the correct measures to make sure that the best quality product is made. My co-workers are hardworking an knowledgeable and great people to around with. The more difficult part of the job was the hours 12 hour and the occasional company shut down as it prevents a consistent paycheck every month. The flip side there are times when the plant manager provides a company lunch and raffles. This is Jack Links.
