The New York office of Jenner & Block LLP seeks a Legal Recruiting Manager to administer all aspects of the office’s attorney hiring initiatives including lateral attorneys, post-clerks, entry-levels and summer associates. The Manager will work directly with the Director of Administration and hiring partners to assess the hiring needs of the New York office and strategize accordingly.


The job includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

- Manage the on-campus interview programs for the New York office and host firm wide hospitality suites as needed
- Coordinate interview schedules and manage reviews to facilitate hiring decisions for all candidates
- Work directly with hiring partners to determine and facilitate offer decisions
- Arrange in-office interviews and follow-up for all candidates
- Act as liaison between Jenner & Block and all applicants
- Screen all incoming lateral candidate materials for hiring decisions
- Determine attorney needs and strategic growth plan with hiring partners
- Implement and manage all aspects of the Summer Associate Program (including work assignments, events, training, orientation and hiring determinations)
- Plan firm wide law clerk reception and other events, as appropriate
- Oversee and manage the post-clerk hiring process
- Maintain relationships with external recruiters to attract appropriate lateral candidates
- Manage the conflicts, background checks and all bar-related issues for incoming attorneys
- Implement all new attorney orientations
- Update and maintain New York recruiting materials for distribution and website content
- Create and maintain recruitment reports for trend analysis and forecasting purposes
- Collaborate with firm wide legal recruiting department to determine best practices
- Keep abreast of industry trends and maintain local network of colleagues
- Update and maintain recruiting information in the firm’s recruiting database
- Participate in firm wide hiring committee meetings and provide status update on New York office efforts


- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
- Five or more years recruiting experience with at least three years recruiting experience in a law firm environment
- Self starter with strong leadership and management skills
- Must be able to work independently and identify potential issues and trouble shoot accordingly
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Must have strong organizational skills, be detailed oriented, possess the ability to multitask and handle multiple responsibilities
- Must have good judgment and maintain confidential information
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint experience, viRecruit experience preferred
