Typical day at work is come in, sit down and start running. Creating purchase orders, working with 30 or more of the stores a day. Taking calls from the stores with special orders then sourcing those products from the vendor in timely, price effective and efficient manner. I learned the in's and outs of logistics, A/P and advertising. The hardest part of the job was dealing with the growing pains of a rapid expansion of new stores with an older system. The most enjoyable part of the job was working with incredible people who gave me so much knowledge and education of the foodservice business that I was able to make a career out of it.
