Used to be a fun place to work

Pros: good benefits
Cons: no company loyalty to long time employees
JM used to be a fun place to work. With management changes, it became very stressful. Staff was reduced and positions were not filled. They expected the same amount of work, or more, to be done by half as many reps, and gave no assistance to employees trying to meet these goals-except overtime. Reps with many years experience were let go and, when replaced, people with no experience were hired creating an even more stressful situation for the remaining reps. There was a lot of favoritism and very few chances for advancement. In the last 3 years of my employment with JM, it felt like I was in an abusive relationship due to constant put downs and from being excluded from opportunities for advancement. Benefits are very good, but that's about it now.

Things are changing

Cons: mandatory overtime, stress, dictatorship / favoritism by management
Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company used to be a organization where all employees were considered as and treated as an "asset" to the company. All employees enjoyed going to work each day, "working together" each day to make decisions in the best interest of the company and its customers.

Now, due to a new software program and current department management, it is all about "money". Long term experienced department management and employees are being replaced with "inexperienced" department management and employees (within the last five years).

Service changed from quality to numbers.

Account Representative (Former Employee), Neenah WIJune 13, 2013
Pros: president was amazing to employees and treated everyone as family. great cafeteria, workout room and benefits.
Talking with policy holders and prospects on a daily basis and helping them insure their jewelry.

I learned about the jewelry insurance industry and found it very interesting.

I really enjoyed my co-workers and unfortunately their was a management change.

The hardest part about this job was the P&C Test.

The best part of this job was interacting with the policy holders and prospects.
