Office Secretary (Former Employee) –  Sherman Oaks, CAAugust 18, 2017
I enjoyed working and helping client and their children in the domestic violence part of the agency. Some day's where hard because I would see clients come in with physical violence come in wanting help for both themselves and their children. Got to see men come and asking for help and they as well where victims themselves. DV comes in both ways.
Pros
great holdiays

Not enough pay

Expectations are high, serious environment. Not a laid back or fun organization. Good benefits and holidays pay. Quiet place and not a lot of training.

They do great work in the community at Jewish Family Service.
Marketing Specialist (Former Employee) –  100 South Pine Island Road, Plantation FLJuly 14, 2017
This is a non profit so you work very hard, however it is very rewarding. I learned a lot about the plight of the Holocaust survivors. Management struggles to keep the work going on a very tight budget. The people are very friendly and it is a nice place to work. It is great to know that you are helping make a difference is peoples lives.
Pros
Great community out reach.
Cons
Poor salaries.

Geriatric Case Manager (Current Employee) –  Seattle, WAJuly 14, 2017
The most enjoyable part of the job is the actual work with clients who are responsive and grateful for your service. Co-workers are generous in sharing their knowledge and experience. Some managers are young and seem inexperienced in their role.

Geriatric Care Manager - MSW Intern (Former Employee) –  West Bloomfield, NYJuly 7, 2017
This was an intern placement. My supervisor while here was amazing. She was always available to answer questions. Near my end date, I had my own case load. While it was not exactly what I wanted to do, it was fulfilling and I enjoyed my time there.

Volunteer Coordinator (Former Employee) –  Austin, TXApril 13, 2017
This was an agency run under Jewish Community Center of Austin. (Dell) My job was to coordinate the relocation of Russians to Austin. Recruited and hired volunteers to help the Russians adjust to life in Austin. Ensured all compliances were met with agency that sponsored them to come to Austin.
Developed and maintained systems for the process or resettlement.
As you can see this was over 18 years ago.. I gained very valuable skills in learning to learn with people in difficult situations.
Pros
Very flexible hours and projects began and ended
Cons
Dealing with difficult people, lots of paperwork with the agency, could not make all the Russians happy and content

Mentor/Tutor (Former Employee) –  Oak Park, MISeptember 29, 2016
I volunteered briefly in the Intake Department of Jewish Family Service and then became a Mentor. This program was well organized and offered support in how to relate to mentees. A variety of activities were planned with other mentors and challenges and successes based on experiences within the program were readily shared.
