It was Ok.
Patient Care Technician (Former Employee), Edison, NJFebruary 25, 2014
Pros: advancement, employee cafeteria, required breaks, decent benefits
Cons: often seem racist, management is poor, poor pay, breaks are short, often understaffed, they cut a lot of corners
Working for JFK Medical Center was ok, there was good as well as bad. If you are an RN or someone who possesses higher credentials than a student or recent graduate treatment and advancement are fair. If not, its not as great but they do hire within and allow adequate room for advancement and their education department is great too.

Pros: co-workers
Cons: management
The people are great to work with very friendly. Management a little disorganize. You would think working in a hospital you'd have great benefits but you don't. The benefits are horrible.

Clinical Student (Former Employee), Atlantis, FLNovember 5, 2013
This hospital was fast pace with a number of different types of examinations to give you a wide scope of the daily routines.
I learned the difference of a Diagnostic Technologist working in the ER compared to the OR while doing X-ray , CT, MRI.

Mixed feelings.
Transporter (Former Employee), Atlantis, FLNovember 4, 2013
Pros: different culture, fast-paced, great instructor, great equipment
Cons: poor management, discrimination, poor environment.
A great learning school. The only hospital that lets students have a direct access and experience like the employee. As a student, had a great experience.
As a transporter did not have a great experience as lot of employees seem under staffed and frustrated. About 50 % of the employees seem very genuine with patient care as the rest seem like they are – more... there to just collect a paycheck.
Felt like the lower pay-grade job you have the more you were discriminated. – less

Registrar (Former Employee), Atlantis, FLJuly 23, 2013
Working with patients as well as medical staff regrding insurance information and demographics. I have learned to verify insurance information, obtain referalls, and help assisting with admitting patients when required. the hardest part of my job is having to collect money and information from sick patients. The most enjoyable part of my job is being – more... given the oppurtunity to meet different people. – less

Emergency Room Technician (Former Employee), Edison, NJJune 24, 2013
Pros: health benefits
Cons: everything else.
Management is horrible and changes every 1-2 years. There is a high turnover rate for emergency room staff because they are not treated well by management or the hospital.
