It's always hard to know what to expect when going in for that interview -- and preparation can make all the difference. What is the interview process like at John Deere?
Any advice on striking the right note?

I am an avid John Deere supporter. All of our equipment is maintained top notch stuff. However, the 624 we just purchased is not what I would call a heavy piece of equipment. It is a fine piece of machinery in build quality, comfort and user friendly. It is not however capable of the work we put it through, which is not all that hard but our old 644E will work circles around it. It gets stuck on flat ground with a bucket full of snow. I kid you not. The rear tires were loaded, fronts were not so I dropped the tire pressures about 25 psi to no avail. We recently had our JD dealer come out and load the front tires as well. 1500lbs per tire. That helped when moving snow but it still will not push snow up a pile. HP is not a problem. It has more than is required even. Anyone have any tricks to help remedy this problem? We are a government entity but our funding comes from the FAA and we have spent all they will allow on it. We have demoted the new piece of equipment to loading sand into our dump truck for runway traction. Kind of a bummer since its such a nice piece of equipment.

Dear Mr. Connolly:
I sincerely apologize for your experience. Fire is not covered by John Deere warranty.
Fire causation is difficult to determine. Our dealers are not trained to determine the cause of a fire. If you have not already done so, please contact your homeowner's insurance company, as the agent you spoke with instructed. This way you will receive an unbiased opinion. They have experts who are trained to determine the cause of the fire.
If you have further questions, please call our center.
Thank you,
Cindi

After calling again.. and filling out another fire
report...and after getting a $865.16 bill for
repair of the tractor.. And being told that John Deere
will offer no compensation at all.. I just wanted to
let you know that John Deere has lost a valued
customer.. The "nothing runs like a deere" slogan
means nothing without you backing up your product..
I can't express my feelings I now have.. I will do my
research while looking for a new tractor.. I will
hope that Cub Cadet or Ariens and Kabota are willing
to take care of customers

Every business has its own style. What is the office environment and culture like at John Deere?
Are people dressed in business casual, jeans and t-shirts, or full-on suits? Do folks get together for Friday happy hours and friendly get-togethers?
What is a typical day in the life of an employee at John Deere?
