The JWU culture is inviting and welcoming. I have met some great people with many different backgrounds. In my counseling role I have to convey to families and students alike the options to fund a JWU education which can be challenging when a family might have a strained economic disposition.
I am a very compassionate person, as such, I tend to try to connect with individuals on a human level before moving into the purpose for our business interaction. The most gratifying experiences in my role is when parents and or students express to me that I was a pivotal part of making there JWU experience a positive one. Outside of this, witnessing situations of financial struggle, stress, and hopelessness more often than I like to admit. When graduation day comes, I'm overwhelmed by the determination of those that have overcome!
